Ruby Homestay

This was the most amazing stay during my time in Vietnam. Bungalow and bed were so big, location quiet and the most central space in Tam Coc. But the best is the host Ruby, sooo kind, so hospitable, always friendly, using Google translate like his second language. Breakfast is so tasty, giving you three options. Before leaving his wife made be pancakes with fruit within five minutes. The pool is also really nice. One advice: contact his son via WhatsApp for the booking, you'll find the no. on Ruby's Facebook page. This saves you the *********** fee and makes the price even cheaper.

Clean , spacious rooms with aircon and water heater for shower . Owners are very hospitable . They even allow us to leave our things and come back after our tour let us use a CR to take a bath and change clothes. It is indeed a home away from home 🥰😘

A wonderful stay at ruby homestay, we were greeted by ruby with a huge smile, he was desperate to teach us a few works in Vietnamese and when we continued to say thank you he loved it! An individual bungalow with a huge bed, air con and a large bathroom, you can see the bathroom from the bed (this seems to be a thing in Vietnam). Breakfast was on our veranda, it is incredible and huge. Ruby's wife did our laundry for us at a reasonable price and we hired bikes for the day at $40k a bike. Lovely location, set back from the main town so beautifully quiet and easy walking distance to tam coc and from the bus station. We cycled to mua caves, Trang an and the historical city all under an hour. We checked out at 11am but ruby let us leave our bags there for free until 7:30 and then gave us two ice cold waters for our overnight bus journey. He really couldn't have done any more for us.

This was the highlight of our experience. Ruby is honestly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. He mainly speaks Vietnamese and knows little English, but he will use Google Translate to communicate with his guests. But the biggest thing is that our interactions with him were not just transactional. He would invite us to tea and we would have entire conversations facilitated by Google Translate. He would take the time to teach us Vietnamese, as we asked him to help us pronounce the accents. His wife is very sweet too - they are an adorable couple. The breakfast here is literally the best we’ve had at any hotel/homestay, even more high-end ones. He and his wife made us Shakshuka, which I know sounds strange for Vietnam, but it was so delicious I craved it for the rest of the day. The rooms are nice and clean - it’s just one big room with and a bathroom. But again, the room isn’t the highlight - it’s Ruby. I will always remember Ruby. Come here as a guest, leave as a dear friend.

Ruby is a sweet guy who takes great care of his guests. He even let us keep our rooms after checkout because we had a late bus out of town. Highly recommend checking out his homestay & enjoying his company

Great place to stay for all the important reasons- the place is clean, charming and in great location for walking to town, but quiet at night. What really makes this place special is our hosts Ruby and his wife (whose name I can’t spell, I’m sorry about that!) and the over the top delicious breakfasts. They are so kind, knowledgeable and have everything you could want - excellent humor, bikes and scooters, great advice on where to go, cold beer and even a visit to see his bee hives housed at his friend’s beautiful garden. We stayed 5 nights and could have happily stayed longer.

Would highly recommend this home stay in Ninh Binh!! The room is clean with good AC and a huge comfy bed. There’s also a great pool. What really made our stay was the owner Ruby, for a small fee he let us check into our room early as our coach arrived at 4am which was a huge relief. He also makes amazing free breakfast, and on the last night he we had to get the coach at 6:20am so he made us a little packed lunch to take with us. It’s the first time my boyfriend and I (both 19yrs old) have truly felt cared for on our trip

We arrived at Ruby Homestay at 3am off on the train. Ruby was incredibly accommodating, even before our arrival. He made sure that our room was well lit and open for us so that we could get there and go straight to bed. In the morning, Ruby messaged us to make sure we knew that we could have a sleep in and he would get us breakfast whenever we were ready. During our 3 night stay, Ruby made sure he taught us some Vietnamese, cooked us amazing breakfast and even shared his local knowledge with a motorbike ride and tasting of local fruit. He organised taxi's for us when we wanted them making sure we didn't overpay. On a side note, Hang Mua shouldn't be missed but go early to try beat the heat! The room was nice and clean and cool and the position of the homestay is in a short walking distance to the Tam Coc lake, shopping and restaurants. Having only been open again since April, its a really central position that makes any easy choice. There are a sea of homestays here but Ruby's is one that shouldn't be missed!

Our stay last June 2023 was really great with Ruby, the same with all the reviews this man will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and will help you with everything you need, he does not speak too much english but he uses a translator and tries his best to communicate and accommodate you. And of course his shakshouka was really good same as the others said. Everyday he would greet you with a smile. Rooms are really great for the price. Even if we couldnt really go around too much because of the weather we still loved our stay, will definitely visit again and will recommend Ruby's place to anybody visiting Ninh Bihn.
