Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort

The staff at the Wyndham Kona was awesome, especially Joy, the woman who helped us make a lei. The front desk staff was very helpful. Our room smelled clean, but on closer examination the carpet needed cleaning and the area around the kitchen faucet needed attention. Probably due for a remodel. The facilities were good, but we wish there was something happening at the bar area of the pool. Our deck overlooked the pool/hot tub courtyard which was lovely, and not noisy. The grounds are nicely maintained. The only negative aspect was that we had trouble confirming our reservation. After my husband read reviews about people arriving and not having a reservation, I called the resort a number of weeks before our arrival. The woman I spoke to was very pleasant, but unable to confirm, suggesting that I call trip.com. Trip.com confirmed the reservation, and explained that they had sent a file to the resort, and the resort must not have opened it yet. I called a week later, and received the same information, so I asked trip.com to contact the resort, which they did. I believe that I made three calls to the resort and three calls to trip.com before the reservation was confirmed by Wyndham about a week before our arrival, which was a bit of a hassle, but everyone I spoke to was pleasant and tried to help. One person in a review said that they checked in late, after four I believe, and there was a problem with their reservation, but that wasn't an issue for us. We gave the resort our flight arrival time of 2:30, and they told us that we wouldn't be able to check in until 4pm, and we might as well go to Costco, which we did. Everything was fine.

We absolutely loved our condo! It had 2 bedrooms and the main suite had a jetted claw foot soaking tub, shower and double vanity, and ample space for all our clothes - there was also access to the huge balcony from the bedroom! There was a washer/dryer in the unit, which was an unexpected bonus, and the kitchen had everything you could want! The property was beautiful and very well maintained, and ohhhh, the hot tub was AMAZING! I'd definitely stay here again.

This is a timeshare resort, so although we were only here for a couple of nights, we had a full apar**ent with a full size kitchen, stackable washer and dryer, two bedrooms and two full baths. We were greeted at reception by Albert, who clearly displayed the spirit of “aloha.” he was friendly and bubbly, and we immediately felt like we had come home to visit a beloved uncle. After a slightly confusing initial orientation to find our apar**ent, we settled in. The grounds are 100% what you would hope for, with tropical plants everywhere, and they are impeccably maintained. There was a small pond with turtles, several historic sites on the property, and two swimming pools with Jacuzzis. Because we had a refrigerator, we bought some snacks as there is no restaurant on site. Coffee is provided by Housekeeping. And Housekeeping in general West excellent. The apar**ents are fully stocked with dishes pots, pans, utensils etc. We had a huge lanai with a full size dining table and lounge chair as well as a small coffee table. It’s a 20 minute walk down the road to the touristic section for shopping and dining. There were more restaurants than we could possibly utilized, as well as coffee shops, bakeries, the convenience stores, and of course gift shops and jewelry stores. Stores like Target and Walmart or 10 minutes away by car, as are the national chain restaurants. Because this was similar to a price to some of the resort hotels, we found it an exceptional value. Because it’s not a regular hotel, we didn’t hear a sound from other tourists in our apar**ent. We slept like babies and woke to a beautiful Hawaiian sunrise and cool ocean breeze . I can’t imagine you could find a more ideal accommodation, particularly if you were traveling with friends or family Thanks again to Albert and the rest of the staff

My wife and I just spent 10 days in Kona, HI at the Wyndham Hawaiin Resort. If not for the dated and worn furniture and worn carpet, this would be one of the best Wyndham Resorts we've ever been to. Other people working here were very friendly and helpful. We were only a block from the Pacific Ocean, it was quiet, and we would spend each evening on our deck looking out to the ocean. We were less than a mile from downtown Kona as well, and we did not have one bad meal there The Airport is fairly close and the outstate sites like the Rainforest and volcano parks are great.

Resort and view very nice. Dated but clean interior. Service outstanding!! Our mattresses were in need of updating and after 4th night we commented to the staff. Within hours the mattresses were replaced!!

Really nice, classy resort. Suites are very compfy with a great patio. Recommend getting an upper level if you can. Pools, gym and social room are all great with a take it or leave it book library and games room. There are some historical ruins on site, the whole place is a botanical garden that Joy, the main activity host has planted hundreds (if not 1000) different plants on site. She offers guided tours and hula lessons, yoga, crafting, lei making lessons and more all as a part of the stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great with walking access to the touristy shops, but also on the main Ali'i drive to quickly get out of town.

Had read a few reviews and decided this would meet my needs for a stay in Kona. It was a wonderful, clean, quiet stay and very walkable to Kona’s restaurants and shops. Will happily stay here again.
