MMireille RIPPSTEINI highly recommend it. It's a family home that has been transformed into a small, intimate hotel, decorated with care and lovely details by a local designer. The hotel is brand new (December 2025) and very clean. It's a family business, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially the young employee, Mr. Li. I was offered tea and fruit and received a lot of attention. Communication is very smooth thanks to their translation app. There are rooms on the ground floor, which is convenient if you have heavy luggage (a quick reminder for Westerners: the ground floor in China is equivalent to the first floor). On the ground floor, there's a large lounge area with a big screen TV, and on the second floor, there's a pleasant terrace overlooking the Chaoyang Gate and a second tea room (there's another one next to the reception). The room is beautiful and has all the necessary modern amenities. The mattress is very comfortable. It's located within easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions via small streets: the old town, the miniature train, the Zhu family garden, and the lake… The value for money is incredible. It's also accessible by car.

GGuest UserHighly recommended! The owner contacted me before I even checked in and sent me the exact parking location. Someone even picked me up from the parking lot. The staff were very welcoming, and there was welcome fruit every day. The room was also very clean and stylish. Bath bags and disposable toilet seat covers were provided free of charge, unlike some hotels that charge extra. The pillows were very comfortable. When I changed rooms later, the owner upgraded me for free. I was initially worried about soundproofing, but it was surprisingly quiet! They even provided umbrellas at the entrance, so I didn't have to worry about getting wet on rainy days. Overall, the service was very thoughtful.

GGuest UserLooking at the online evaluation, I chose Fanqi B&B. On the morning of submitting the order, I received a call from the store to inform the nearby parking lot. I arrived at the B&B that night. The small door face entered the house but there was no cave. The quadruple courtyard has a history of 100 years. The store was very enthusiastic and upgraded the room for us and introduced the historical story of the small courtyard, and provided us with attractions and food guides for visiting Jianshui. The room and bathroom are also very clean, the hot water temperature is also very high, and the breakfast is very rich. Provided according to our requirements, The homestay also provides free Hanfu for taking pictures and barbecue. There are not many tourists traveling on the staggered peaks and found the feeling of home in Fanqi, which made us start a pleasant journey.

AAnonymous UserThe environment is super good. The inn is an old house, very beautiful. The housekeeper is very enthusiastic and contacted us one day in advance to tell us how to check in. The breakfast is delicious, with a lot of variety and very satisfying. I don't want to go out when I stay in the inn. I can stay for a day and it's very comfortable.

GGuest UserWe had a truly enjoyable stay at this lovely homestay in Jianshui. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged, giving us a comfortable place to relax after exploring the town.
The location was perfect—peaceful, yet just a short walk or ride to Jianshui's historic old town, the Confucius Temple, and the beautiful Zhu Family Garden. The architecture and local atmosphere were charming, and we felt like we got a real taste of traditional Yunnan culture.
Our hosts also provided great suggestions for local food and sights, which made our trip even more memorable. This homestay was the perfect base for discovering the beauty and history of Jianshui.
Highly recommended—we would happily stay here again!

GGuest UserThe quaint courtyard and two-story building are very warmly decorated and have a homey feel. I liked it at first sight. It is located in a small alley beside the east gate of the ancient city. It has easy access and convenient transportation, which is much more convenient than living inside the ancient city. The beautiful boss and her mother are thoughtful and enthusiastic. They take the initiative to pick up and drop off guests and help with luggage, recommend food and travel guides to guests, contact them for shopping and car rentals, provide a lot of convenience, and solve many practical problems for guests. Every time I come back from a trip, seeing the smiling faces of the boss and his mother and hearing their greetings makes me feel the warmth of home. The room is fully equipped, clean, and well-planned. The mattress is very comfortable and the toilet is smart, making it very comfortable to live in. It can be seen that the boss is very dedicated to his work. The daily breakfast is diverse and well-matched. I have been traveling for a month and this is the most satisfying stay. I extended my stay twice.

SShanghaihanlvThe hotel boasts a prime location, right next to the small train station and not far from Jianshui Ancient City—about an 8-minute walk! It's a newly opened hotel, and the rooms are clean and tidy. The double beds are quite large, and the mattresses and bedding are comfortable. The shower in the bathroom has strong water pressure, making showering comfortable. The breakfast selection isn't extensive, but the portions are generous and filling! They even have local specialty rice noodles! The owner is incredibly welcoming; they not only upgraded our room but also helped us book our train tickets and suggested tourist attractions! We are very grateful! There are plenty of parking spaces, making it convenient for tourists traveling by car!

GGuest UserI love the homestay so much. Whether it's the decor or the toothbrush and bedding, you can see the owner's care and taste. We booked two rooms, a private bath and a slide room. The private bath room can relieve a day's fatigue, and the slide room can satisfy the children's joy. The location of the homestay is quiet in the bustling city and convenient for transportation. The owner is responsive, patient and gentle. I really enjoy chatting with the owner. It's really nice and makes me feel warm. When I left, it felt like I was leaving a friend's house. I look forward to seeing you next time👍🏻

GGuest UserMy second time stay here, this time on the way back from Yuan Yang en route to Kunming. Delightful afternoon tea in tastefully furnished tea reception room.
Book is nice and soft to sleep on. Also enjoyed the excellent breakfast.
Service so good that we decided to extend stay by one night.
The manager. Mr Shao, is friendly and wonderful to talk to, who recommends us a nice Hui restaurant to dine in, and timing to see sunset at ShuangLong Bridge.
His colleague, Mr Han, is very attentive in serving our needs.
Hotel also gives us a lift to the train station on its new Toyota Alphard which is very comfortable to sit in.
Awesome to find hotel with 5-star service in a small town like Jianshui. Hope that hotel can keep up to current standards.

GGuest UserThe B&B is right opposite Chaoyang Tower. During holidays, traffic is controlled and self-driving cars cannot enter during peak hours. You have to wait until the crowds have left in the evening before you can enter. The section of road from Lin'an Station to the B&B is all on uneven stone roads. It is quite physically demanding to carry the suitcases by yourself.
The one we stayed in was the Goldfish Room, which is relatively cheap and has a wooden structure with a tile roof. The boss said that it faces the street and may not have good sound insulation. In fact, we were too tired to listen to the sounds outside and fell asleep directly.
The boss has two residences. The Goldfish House does not have a courtyard. You can enter directly into the lobby to settle in. The other one has a courtyard and the scenery is very good.
