Newly renovated ranch style duplex unit is conveniently located near the freeways for quick access to the local colleges and universities, local businesses, shopping and dining. Whether your stay is for business or pleasure, you will enjoy the privacy and tranquil environment. The main living area faces the back yard where there are three large maple trees that offer plenty of shade during hot sunny days. The backyard is fenced in for added privacy and security. There is also a fire pit in the back yard for a late evening marshmallow roast or just to relax by an open fire with friends and cold beverages. There's 2200 square feet of living area that includes the basement, which is 1/3 finished. The basement has an egress window that allows for additional sleeping space if needed. There is also a washer and dryer available for guest staying 5 or more nights.Guest will have access to the entire unit and the back yard. Currently, there will be no access to the garage, but driveway parking is available as well as the parking space that is located on the right side of the driveway. During the summer months, you and/or your guest can also park on the street in front of the house. There is a city ordinance that prohibits street parking beginning November 1st through April 15, from 2am till 6am.I'm your next door neighbor; however, I travel often for business and pleasure. When I am home, I'm usually just relaxing, watching sports or out and about doing some type of outdoors activity. I welcome you to knock on my door if you need assistance with anything or you can just send me a text message or call. Our interaction is totally up to you. My wish is to make you feel at home.There is a mailbox in the kitchen that has menus from various local restaurants.Convenient to freeways, shopping and dining.KVCC- 10 min drive, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College- 15 min driveThe city of Portage offers an extensive bikeway system that allows users to enjoy nature and connects to cultural resources. Most of the roads have designated bicycle lanes and there are separate off-road trails for joint bicycle and pedestrian use.The neighborhood is fairly quite. All of the homes in the Circle are duplexes, where roughly 40% are owner occupied and the balance are occupied by renters. The area attracts young families with children because of low vehicle traffic. Welcome to our large 1000+ sq ft basement with two king size beds and full bathroom.Entry and space is entirely private.Immerse yourself in our 120” home theater, recreational games, racing simulator, stocked kitchenette, and premium coffee bar!Private laundry and half bathroom for you are upstairs.The spacePlease be aware: this is a finished basement apartment and we live upstairs. We have a dog and a little boy who like to run around and make noise. It is an older home with original wood flooring and not soundproof. You will hear floor creaks and sounds while we are home. This stay is not ideal if you're sensitive to noise.There is no full kitchen, only a kitchenette. It includes: sink, mini refrigerator, microwave and a toaster oven.This space is not ideal for long stays, nor is it ADA sufficient. Ceiling height in basement is 7 feet.This is a fully underground basement apartment. The bedrooms are the only two rooms that have windows to the outside.Temperature: each room has its own heater/air conditioner/fan.The home is in a very safe and family oriented suburban neighborhood.Less than 1 mile from US Highway 13110 minutes from WMU / Kalamazoo College10 minutes from downtown Kalamazoo50 min to Grand Rapids50 min to South HavenPlease be understanding that in the case of a natural disaster, such as a tornado, we will need to seek shelter and enter our basement. We have a dog but he’s incredibly friendly.Guest accessThis is a basement apartment with its own private entrance from the main floor. Once you arrive, you’ll have access with a keyless entry. Code provided in a private message.You will need to go down a flight of stairs to get to your basement unit from the main floor.The door that leads to the basement can be left open or closed. Your preference.Other things to noteBecause there is little noise barrier between our space upstairs and yours, carefully re-consider this space if you're looking for something completely quiet.Please be mindful and aware of your noise level, especially during the late hours.
