In conclusion, it was absolutely wonderful. I have stayed at many accommodations in the past, but this is in the top three of my life. It has a reputation for being one of the best Paradors, and it was true. The building has a Hogwarts-like a**osphere, the rooms, the amenities, the breakfast, the view of Paris on the opposite bank, the quiet environment and people in the villa area, and the delicious restaurants and bars within walking distance. I would like to come back to Hondarribia just to come here.

Fuimos con una oferta de booking - 240€ - y no se puede pagar más, me parece caro, es cierto que la ubicación es genial pero está anticuado, las habitaciones son muy normales, en definitiva, no lo vale, además el parking 20€, cariiisimo Mención especial el desayuno, 30€ y es una completa estafa, bajamos a eso de las 10,15 y ya no reponían, faltaban cosas y había que ir detrás del camarero para decirle que trajesen productos. Lo caliente se reduce a huevos fritos, tortilla o revuelto, mejor ir al bar de enfrente. En definitiva, os invito a que no vayáis, hay hoteles por la mitad de precio y con el mismo encanto

A wonderful place. The location is extraordinary and the rooms are cozy with very comfortable beds and dreamlike views. The service is very friendly and always available. I only think that they can improve the breakfast. The variety of gluten-free products is limited and I did not find any options vegan to dairy. In any case, I would return again a thousand times!!

Upgrade to a suite you won’t regret it. History, views and food are all amazing. The castle is amazing and the blending of the hotel into the castle is top notch. Definitely worth visiting and spending the extra $$$ for a suite

Check in was not welcoming, no tips or maps offered. Room 1 very tired and dark with view of a wall. Bathroom was designed for disabled people. Noise from the kitchen across the hallway. For breakfast we were only offered two breakfast slots starting at 815am or 915am without further explanation why. It became clear the following morning it was because of the very crammed space where the one server and guests had to constantly avoid each other to not bump in to each other. Breakfast was very basic with no fresh orange juice and the pastries were not fresh. At check out another car was parked in front of ours so we had to sort that out. The parking charges of 20 euros per night were also not clearly indicated in the reservation.

After a 6 hour drive we went to our room, only for an external sound system under the window blasting music all afternoon/early evening. Hotel staff just shrugged and said nothing they can do and could not move us to another room. Feel completely ripped off as the room albeit large, was simply not worth the money and the noise/ staff attitude really was the last straw.

Magnificent location and setting, excellent welcome, but very poorly soundproofed rooms. Avoid the ground floor next to the noisy kitchens.
