Philippine Hostel

Got a budget single room, but toilet was one of the largest I have seen in Chungking mansions. Facilities clean. They provided a TV in the budget single room. No window is the reason it is a budget single room. Excellent air conditioning and fan. I came in sweaty and within a minute I was cooled down. I was right next to the front desk, so there is service virtually 24hrs and it is very friendly and helpful. There is a HKD100 deposit for a key which I got back when I checked out. Hot water, sugar, cups and Coffee provided free of charge if you ask for it. Towels and soap are also free of charge. For some the mattress may be a bit on the thin side but just ask for a second pillow. I noticed the tap on the sink in the shower was a bit loose and slight smell came from wall so I just put a tissue into it and that did the trick. For a budget room it was excellent

Let’s start with this: If you want luxury, this place isn’t for you. Having said that, if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in the middle of it all, this place will suit you well. The rooms are small but adequate for anyone not over 6’ (if you are, you might find the bed a bit short). The best is the location; Tsim Sha Tsui, the heart of Kowloon and within easy reach of HK Island. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The room environment is accwptable.

Beware this hotel owner! He has Philippine and holland hotels. First he tried to say I had no booking, argued with him for 30 minutes. Then he says I can have a single bed room when I booked a double ( I had the receipt which I showed him) z Them out of nowhere, the booking print out which he said he had no information in appears saying I booked a single. I refused to accept the single given I paid for a double. We argued then he said he would call the police. Police arrived saying that I requested the police ( I said the owner requested). The doggy hotel owner backed down after my agent called him, I could here is back peddling as he spoke with the agent on the phone. Police also could see he was wasting everyone’s time with his elaborate scam. BEWARE THIS HOTEL ( Owner will say II checked in early which is true 30 minutes early, but that has nothing to do with the doggy events that followed. Phillipine and Holland hotel.
