Holiday Inn Express WAIKIKI by IHG

This hotel is super convenient as you can take the 'W' line bus directly from Honolulu Airport. It's about a 10-minute walk to Waikiki Beach, and it's located on a street lined with famous Waikiki hotels. Royal Hawaiian Center is also within walking distance. There are ABC Stores, supermarkets, and a DEAN & DELUCA on the first floor of the Ritz-Carlton Residences all nearby. I've stayed here several times. I chose a twin room, and it came with two queen-sized beds, which was very comfortable. The only minor downside was that the air conditioning was a bit noisy, but if you turned it off and used the ceiling fan, it was still cool enough. The bathroom had a bathtub, and while there wasn't a hand shower, adjusting the water temperature was easy, so it wasn't an issue. The cleaning was thorough, and the room was spotless. The hairdryer was in a black bag inside the closet. They provided a capsule coffee maker with both coffee and tea capsules, which was a nice touch. There was also a refrigerator, microwave, and iron. While there's no bottled mineral water service in the room, there's a free water dispenser next to the front desk where you can fill your own bottle or cup. The complimentary breakfast was simple but sufficient, and the taste was good. Given the high cost of living in Hawaii, I was very satisfied with the reasonable stay here.

This hotel was renovated in 2024 and overall, it's pretty good. The rooms are a bit small, but the front desk staff, especially the lady who checked us in, was super nice and gave us a high-floor room with a sea view. It's also incredibly convenient as you just walk a few steps downstairs to the commercial area.

The room was comfortable with a clear view of Hawaii's scenery. The beach 🏖️ is also very close to the hotel. Parking costs extra, but check-in was very convenient. There's a small supermarket right across from the hotel, which was handy for grabbing daily necessities, food, and drinks.

The view from the window was okay, and it was a corner room. Don't be fooled by the 'newly renovated' claim; it's quite old, and still has a window air conditioner. Everything was pretty mediocre, and the breakfast was unappetizing. It's on par with a Hanting Hotel at a popular domestic tourist spot.

The room was decent, and the location was great. However, the window AC unit was really noisy. For the price, I can't really complain. The hotel breakfast was typical Western fare, but they did have rice.

The hotel's location is excellent, but the room was tiny. There were no slippers provided, which was quite uncomfortable for me walking around barefoot. The American breakfast was pretty terrible for a Chinese palate, and this hotel was no exception. Of course, as long as Americans like it, that's what matters, considering it's in the U.S. The hotel has its own parking lot, which costs $55 per night.

The hotel has a parking lot, a small gym, and a swimming pool, all fully equipped. There's even a small microwave in the room, which is quite convenient for heating up food. Shell and Foodhall are right next door, and it's less than a 5-minute drive away. Since it's a newly opened hotel this year, everything looks very new and clean, and it was indeed very well cleaned. There's even hand sanitizer next to the elevator, which is reassuring, haha. Driving to the airport the next morning only took about 20 minutes, very convenient. I recommend it for a short stay~

The room was a bit small, about 30 square meters, but perfectly adequate for two adults and one child, especially since we spent most of our time outdoors anyway and only came back to the hotel to shower and sleep. The hotel's location is excellent – it's very close to the Hilton beach. If you head right out of the hotel and cross the traffic light, there's a 7-Eleven where you can buy a bus pass and snacks. Keep an eye out just before you reach the 7-Eleven intersection, as there's a small food truck market there with delicious and affordable food. P.S. There's an airport shuttle bus that pretty much drops you off right at the hotel entrance. However, if you're looking for the shuttle right after you land, it's a bit of a walk from the terminal. We actually tried out the airport bus route specifically when we were leaving, and it took about forty minutes.
