We arrived onsite the staff we’re very helpful and allowed us to have the keys early. Rooms were very spacious with tea, coffe and biscuit in the room. The room was excellent and the food onsite was amazing. Full English was incredible. Thanks to all the staff. We will visit this hotel again in the future.

We came here for our minimoon as newlyweds. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were lovely. Our first room was beautiful but we discovered the shower wasn't working but we're quickly moved into a new one. It was equally as stunning, if not more. I loved how the hot drinks and biscuits were topped up each day by the cleaners as that's quite rare. Our dinner the first day was so nice. I had the steak pie and my husband had fish and chips. I must add the staff were extra nice to me as I had practically no voice the first day we were there too. Our breakfast every morning was really lovely. We also attended the quiz as it was first Wednesday of the month. We were the only hotel guests there but the host made us feel so welcome and we had a really good night. We would definitely come here again.

We stayed for 1 night and found that the staff were very friendly and approachable. Bar prices were fine, and food was good both evening meal and breakfast. Room was overlooking the lake and was nice and warm with a comfy bed. Would recommend.

Went for food on a Saturday and we ordered the beef stew it said it came with carrots swede mash and garlic bread when it came it looked like a plate of mean in gravy maybe a tiny one piece of carrot and then toast not garlic bread and no swede I question this to be told the menu was printed wrong and was ment to come with the toast witch I find very strange 3 of us had ordered this at not one us ate it as known of us like it all as like a full plate of meat and gravy so all left it the manger just said did we want her to ask the chef to do us garlic bread but repeated it wasn't to come with toast we received Evan though the menu stated garlic bread buy then I was passed it so said leave it we then off round if drink same as are round we payed for before orange 2 cokes and single gin which didn't cost much and was charged for the awful stew not one of us eaten at 16.50 each used to love coming this places but this experience has put me off such a shame as used to be nice food .😔

The location is lovely, beautiful building. We called in for breakfast before a walk around the lake. It was a little disappointing. The toast was OK but came with 2 packs of butter which were completely melted and like liquid. My husband had the full English breakfast which was average. Have had much better

This is the third time we have stayed here and again it didn’t disappoint. Very good value for money with a lovely breakfast included. This time we had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent. All staff are very nice and they even supply water bottles for those cold evenings. A perfect place to stay for closeness to Leek and the Derby Dales

This Hotel is a perfect find. The Hotel is lovely. It is dog friendly ( not that I have a dog ) but a plus for those who do. The rooms are very clean and warm, good tea , coffee facilities in the room with biscuits. Great shower. The staff are also first class and friendly. Then there's the outdoors , who could ask for more. The walk around the lake 5.6 miles is all pretty much flat going underfoot a d there's plenty of people to chat too en route. All in all a fantastic find for an overnight or weekend stay. First class place

Nice small cosy room with shower. No window with view though but my son and his girlfriend had a lovely bay window with views and a big bathroom. Staff very nice and courteous and nothing we requested was too much for them. We are very appreciative. Though having said that we had an early flight at 6.00 am and we were told we could request a packed breakfast which we did but unfortunately, they had a misunderstanding, and it was not prepared. But apart from that I could not complain. Very quiet in the countryside. You need a car to go anywhere. But there were a few tourists' sights while walking in the countryside. My son and his girlfriend went walking and saw what a beautiful place it was. We had kettle and biscuits which were replaced every time we ate them. No phone in room. We had our breakfasts and other meals in the hotel which were very good, good quality and normal prices. We chose this hotel as it was very near to a wedding we were attending at the Ashes Barn.
