Sunbay Resort

We rented a family room so we could have 2 separate bedrooms. There's no refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, etc... The only AC was in the Master bedroom so our son got pretty hot. The towels for the hot tub had to be checked out and we had to ***** our own beds and gather the linens. We have done this multiple times as we have rented houses previously but never in what I consider a hotel. The building is older but well kept. The carpet in the room was clean but there was quite a bit of dust on the dresser. The remote control for the queen bedroom was missing the back and batteries secured with electrical tape. The staff was amazing but the restaurant was very expensive. The hot tub was nice and the outdoor pool was heated and very well maintained. I would stay again but now I am more aware of the additional needs to be comfortable. Would probably be renting the full condo. Overall for 1 night these things are minor and the staff make up for the small conveniences that most hotels provide.

This resort is in need of major updating. Especially the "cabins", in the back of the resort which are wood exteriors. The siding, stairs and rails are in need of replacement, The unit interiors are also in need of refurbishment. It seems that lately the general maintenance of the resort has deteriorated. But it is a good location, the staff is great, and the on-site restaurant is wonderful.

We have stayed at the resort several times in the past 10 years and always pleased, but this time not so much. The view is great, but maintenance needs improvement. The entire resort need a general update. Specifically the living room furniture was very worn and needed replaced. The sofa bed had a broken frame and was not usable.

Very good place to stay, although it was end of February and first part of March. Not much lake activity but all around good vacation. units were a little dated but all around in good shape. Being the off-season looks like was some construction or renovations going on.

Great Staff! Great location on lake. Clean overall and everything worked but showing its age. Needs updating but reasonable rates can be very attractive. Close to downtown and all the cool stuff you go to Hot Springs for. Good bang for the buck but not upscale.

Cindy, the activities director, Joyce, the onsite massage therapist, the front desk staff, the maintenance and housekeeping team and the security team were all impeccable and accommodating and met every need quickly even though we had some unique needs.

I liked the price unitl I saw the rooms. Mine smelled like heavy smoke the air in the rooms was thick and had an odor. The bathroom floor was dirty. No fridge or microwave. No soap or lotion or any things like that in the room.

Dont expect an early check in, we checked in after 4 and at 10 am sharp they call your phone and rush u out like dogs. I wont stay here again for 230 a night, i refuse to be treated that way. I've done front desk for several years and they couldve considered my request. Theres other resorts around. And it needs updating badly.
