Mountain Dreaming

A beautiful corner apartment with a stunning view. Quite spacious, good bathroom and kitchen. The beds are comfortable the apartment clean. Location is perfect for Big D, and dining at the Genny. The sunsets are amazing and the mountain ranges are gorgous. Would happily stay again.

What a view! Facing West so you get the most incredible sunset. The staff are all lovely and happy to be there, the on-site food, bar, and corner store is an added bonus also- about 20 steps from your room! We got in at about 6pm and were able to easily collect the keys from the bar. The bar/restaurant closed at about 8:30 (so no noise to keep us up). Facing West so while the accommodation looking over the other side of the mountain got fogged out, we had amazing views of the sun streaming through the clouds onto the mountain range- it was incredible. Staff are all really happy and helpful. We stayed in the middle of summer so no snow, though it was across the road from a ski-lift. Can't wait to return in the winter and experience the whole thing with snow and skiing.

Absolutely fantastic location, especially with a child. Drying room and storage excellent. Great amenities and everything we needed. Very clean and tidy. Pub and general store attatched. 3rd stay and we will be back.

The location of the property was very convenient for us as we have enrolled our kids for the ski lessons and this property is right next to the Big D lifts. Also we really loved the vibe (access via The General Restaurant) and the views from the balcony / bed room. The rooms were clean, fully functional kitchen, excellent views of the mountains from the balcony and one of bed room (out of two) and a working wifi, Netflix / Disney plus availability was an added advantage. We will definitely recommend this place.

Don't waste your money if you want to sleep. They advertise that after 10pm is quiet time in the rooms. No parties or loud music allowed. But doof doof music allowed til 1am every night. Fire alarm ignored.

Spent two nights at this accommodation compliments of a red balloon voucher . We stayed in a studio apartment which was well equiped warm and had most things which were needed for a relaxing 2/7 stay The thing that was missing was a comfortable chair / couch instead there was bench seating. We were not offered any type of upgrade which we would have happily paid for ( the resort was empty as winter season had not started The access too our room was by an outdoor stair well Not fun when it’s raining. / snowing as it was we were decidedly damp before we reached our apartment The staff were professional and friendly The food at the general was nice with out being exceptional .

My partner bought me a weekend away on red balloon for a 2 nights stay with dinner! The accommodation was insane we had mountain views covered in snow with a balcony so we could sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the view provided. The food was delicious if the restaurant wasn’t a 5 hour drive away we would go all the time! Mountain Dreaming gave us so many memories we couldn’t of had a better time, a massive thankyou to all the staff as well everyone was so helpful and kind!

Beautiful room and beautiful location. Very comfortable and cosy. Highly recommend staying here, and recommend eating at the attached bar/restaurant. Definitely monitor the weather and hire some chains - even if you have an AWD - better safe than sorry! We had a few inches of snow (unexpected to us) and needed the chains to drive back down Mt Hotham Road. Memorable and wonderful stay!

Me and my wife took her parents on a family trip and stayed in 2 bedroom apartment. What we liked: Clean rooms with plenty of space and a beautiful view of mountain valley all day long. Access to the shop and bar/restaurant (kitchen closes at 8pm) till late night. Well equipped kitchen, laundry & dryer and heaters all around the apartment. Extremely friendly staff and delicious food. Free use of fire wood and logs to burn and get cosy outside. What we didn't like: The rooms in our apartment were downstairs while the bathroom was upstairs which was difficult for old parents or anyone who needs frequent access to it. The staircase towards the top was very creaky and noisy which woke us up every time someone went upstairs during night.
