Great Service, Lovely Breakfast — but Room Noise and In-Room Dining Could Improve
I recently stayed at the Thompson Houston and overall had a great experience, especially thanks to the excellent service. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional. Their attention to detail really made me feel welcomed, and I was touched when they surprised me with a graduation cake — a thoughtful gesture I truly appreciated.
The hotel breakfast was a highlight. The food was fresh and well-prepared, and once again, the service stood out. Dining in the morning felt like a treat thanks to the welcoming atmosphere.
That said, there were a few downsides that affected my stay. The room was quite noisy, even late into the night. It was hard to relax or fall asleep with the amount of outside noise coming through.
Also, I ordered in-room dining on two occasions. On the first day, everything was great. However, the next day the fries were noticeably soggier, the salad was just a bowl of greens with six tiny avocado cubes, and — most concerning — the aioli on the side looked like it had already been used.
Overall, Thompson Houston left a positive impression on me, mostly due to its exceptional staff and quality breakfast. I hope they can improve the soundproofing and ensure consistency in their in-room dining service.

My stay at the Thompson Houston was perfection The location was close to everything I wanted to go to and the town car drops you off at local sites. My room was amazing. The view was crazy. The staff and services were quick and efficient. You could tell they really wanted you to enjoy your stay a trip to the spa was the utmost and pampering again. The staff was amazing there too. Didn’t wanna leave. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend the Thompson Houston.

Beautiful property, very friendly staff, extremely helpful and accommodating. My 4-year-old daughter loved the heated pool. The view was stunning. Our puppy received a royal reception with the bowls, a rug and a super comfy bed.

Was a good stay but what prevented it from being truly great are (1) no upgrade offered with a compromised hard product and (2) poor property amenities. (1) We were placed in a room right by the elevators (already noisy) also with exposure to the busy part of a thoroughfare, which featured loud cars revving at night. There was little interior sound deadening, which meant we could clearly hear our nextdoor neighbors having a spirited discussion at night. We did bring these up and staff did ask our neighbors to respect the quiet hours but I wish there was a white noise machine or a different room offered. (2) There were good amenities in rental bikes and house car offerings but the onsite restaurant (Sol7) wasn't good at all. They offered a brunch buffet (with breakfast foods) for $75/person with a $50 upcharge for shrimp + clams - hardly a valuable proposition. A la carte entrees ran $30 - $50 and small pastries for $5 but honestly weren't worth it. We really appreciated the early check-in and late check-out through AmEx FHR.

The holiday decor and lighting was stunning! Staff was LOVELY, warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was elevated and elegant.
