Visited DMV for a week in mid May. Keep in mind my trip was to see DC and the area not spend a week in a hotel. My qualifications on booking the room was: 1) close/walking distance to a metro stop; 2) included a hot breakfast; 3) wasn’t $175 per night. Hit on all three qualifications. The room was clean, no noisy neighbors. The walk to Huntington Metro was 15 min or less. Available near by food options were not many and delivery was hit/miss. Room had a microwave, fridge (no freezer - frozen Walmart supplies didn’t last) two queens and bath. Bathroom was not great. The shower head was waaay too short. I am 6’1” and my son is 6’3”. Shower at its highest aim came to my lower neck. Water pressure was also low. Speaking of low, the bathroom ceiling was oddly low, too. I understand the importance if a shower grab bar, had one, but oddly this one kept jabbing me in the side - for whatever that’s worth. Cable TV was extremely grainy. Luckily the in-room TV had wireless connect to my laptop so we YouTubed while eating dinner. The in-room AC worked really well. My son likes it at 60 so while he chilled I froze but luckily I was comfortable with the bedding. Employees and room service were all exceptionally pleasant to deal with. Very friendly. I used them for : 1) room cleaning - they didn’t speak English but they were nice people. 2) front desk for help with Wi-Fi. Passphrase given was not right. Had to work with Cox for the right passphrase. 3) front desk for help with laundry services. Laundry room was 100% offline during my visit. Super annoying. Had to walk to laundry service and spend an additional $4 for soap, $4.50ish for wash, $4.75ish for drying then hoofing it back (it’s close to the metro station) Near by Indian food restaurant is delicious. Overall, I met my objectives of a low-budget visit but next time I’ll spend the $150 per night be get a better shower and place with working laundry services.
