Stayed here over a weekend in mid-April and was disappointed. The location is great--it is right next to the Space & Rocket Center and about 5-10 minutes from a lot of shops and restaurants. Some of the rooms also apparently have views of the big rocket at the Space & Rocket Center, which is cool. Otherwise, it has a lot of problems, mostly service related. The front desk was disinterested in check-in. There was no staff actually at the front desk when I went to check in around 5pm; instead, they were cutting up and joking in a back room and only came out when I knocked on the door (after waiting for five minutes where they could obviously see me standing there). The woman who checked me in either misread or was confused about my Marriott status and told me that I had no status currently. When I tried to politely correct her (because she was confusing my current status with how many nights I needed to renew it), she doubled down and insisted I had no status. I let it go because it wasn't worth arguing about, but it was a poor way to begin the stay. It also meant that I didn't get lounge access, though I heard from several people (and others on this site) that the lounge isn't any good anyway. The room was okay--it's a standard Marriott room. It could probably use a little refresh but was acceptable. For dinner the first night, we just wanted bar food and to drink some cocktails so we went to the Barrel Room bar in the lobby. The server/bartender, a guy named Trenton, very clearly didn't want to serve us anything because he first told us (before we even sat down) to go to the restaurant, Southern Chop, because the bar only served "bar food." When we told him that's all we wanted, he then said "well, we get the food from the restaurant anyway, so you should go there." It was very bizarre and off-putting. The bar was practically empty, and I've never seen an empty bar essentially turn away customers who wanted to drink and send them someplace else. Trenton's attitude came across as either being lazy (not wanting to wait on anybody) or just plain rude and obnoxious. We wanted to have some cocktails (and maybe some bourbon) with our bar food, but the entire experience (basically being forced to go to a restaurant that we didn't want to go to) made us glad that we didn't spend any money there. After basically being denied service by Trenton we went to Southern Chop on the other side of the lobby. I had already looked at the menu at Southern Chop (and it's limited, which is why we didn't want to eat there in the first place), but we had lost our appetites and desire to drink after the experience with Trenton anyway. We had a quick, cheap meal there and then went somewhere else for a nightcap, still sort of in shock at Trenton's rudeness. I will give credit where it's due, though. The food at Southern Chop was well-prepared (despite the limited menu), and our server, Goldie, was a gem. In fact, she was the only employee we encountered at the hotel who ac
