Mercure Hurghada Hotel

I recently stayed at Mercure Hotel, and overall I had a really good experience. The food was alright—definitely better than what I’ve had in all-inclusive hotels in Turkey or Tunisia. There was a wide variety of dishes, including lots of tasty options, cakes, tea, coffee (which was actually good), cocktails, and decent beer. The service was excellent. The staff were very polite and always willing to help—you can ask them anything and they’ll do their best. A special mention goes to Ahmed, the kitchen chef, who is an incredibly kind person. He really stood out, and I’d give an extra star just for him. The resort overall is not as busy as many other places in the area, which I really liked. It’s a smaller hotel compared to others nearby, with a simple, nice look—white buildings with brown windows, just like in the photos. It’s not a big aqua park-style resort, but honestly that was a plus for me, as I could relax without too many kids around. The beach is nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing. There are comfortable beds with shades/umbrellas around, so you can always find a good spot. The hotel has three swimming pools—the one next to the main restaurant is very large and usually empty, as most people stay at the smaller pool or by the beach. The sea water was a bit cold for my preference, but it’s beautifully clear and very clean. Many people really enjoy it, especially for snorkeling—there are amazing snorkeling spots right next to the resort. Rooms are cleaned every day, and you get two bottles of water per room daily, which is a nice touch. There are also plenty of activities: you can play tennis (though they only have one set of rackets), mini golf is included in the stay, and there’s a gym which is usually empty. There are snacks available by the pools and the beach, and a bar in the main restaurant. Outside the hotel, taxis are easy to find either at the lobby or on the street. Just make sure to agree on the price beforehand, or use the inDrive app—it’s usually cheaper than Uber or Careem, and you agree on the price upfront. There are a few shops nearby as well. If you need medication, it’s better to order from Self Care Pharmacy (you can find them on Facebook). For example, I ordered Antinal and rehydration salts with delivery for only 250 Egyptian pounds. They can deliver pretty much anything you need, and it’s much cheaper than buying inside the resort—definitely good to be prepared for emergencies. Overall, it’s a clean, more peaceful hotel with good service, plenty of food options, and lots to do. A great place to relax and enjoy the Red Sea.

Hisham was incredibly helpful and really made our stay feel like a 5-star experience. The rooms, pools, and beaches are lovely, but the people are what truly make this hotel special. Everything was clean and well maintained. The only small downside for me was that some of the food, especially the desserts, tasted a bit bland, but there are plenty of options to choose from. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back.

A Disgrace to the Accor Brand – Incompetence at Every Level I am beyond frustrated with my experience at Mercure Hurghada. As an architect who has worked on various Accor hotels worldwide, I find it an insult to the brand that this property is allowed to operate under its name.The issues began immediately at check-in. Despite presenting a confirmed booking for two people, the staff insisted their system showed only one and forced me to pay an additional fee on the spot. It felt like a total bait-and-switch. When I finally entered the room, it was a disaster. It was completely unprepared: no internet, a broken telephone, a dusty floor that clearly hadn't been cleaned, no tissues, and zero toiletries. Because the room phone was out of service, I actually had to use my personal mobile to make an international call to the front desk just to request basic essentials. The "service" that followed was a joke. It took three separate follow-up calls to get anything. When towels finally arrived, they only brought two—and they weren't even bath towels or face towels, just two random pieces of linen. Even the toiletries they eventually brought were only for one person, despite them charging me extra for two! To top it off, there was no QR code menu as claimed, no slippers, and no robe. For $110 USD a night, you are paying for nothing but a bed. To make matters worse, past midnight, a front desk representative showed up at my door with two staff members from room service and the kitchen. Instead of apologizing, they staged a "meeting" inside my room to argue with me about what was missing and "evaluate" the situation. This rude and argumentative behavior—at midnight, no less—is the height of unprofessionalism. There was zero acknowledgment of the inconvenience or the team's incompetence. This was a miserable experience from start to finish. The lack of basic preparation and the sheer incompetence of management is staggering. Avoid this place at all costs.

Mercure Hurghada is a good place for relaxation and the food has a lot of varieties but I will not be interested to visit it again

Amazing stay at lovely beachfront location, but the hotel restaurant was not good. Aside from the great breakfast buffet, all other food was delivered cold and unappetising.

Everything was amazing during our stay at Mercure Hotel.The beach, dinner, bars , shows everything. But especially the people work in there were so so nice. Especially the people in reception I am sorry I forgot the names and the bartender Ahmad in the main pool. Thank you very much for everything and definitely see you next year!!!
