Stayed here overnight whilst travelling on business . Arrived around 730pm, hotel easy to find and lots of parking. Allocated a room in the lodge area, clean but basic, not bad for a 3 star hotel. WiFi was excellent and available everywhere. Evening meals available in the pub, this was an area which let the hotel down, very limited vegan options (only soup starters, no desserts). A burger on the mains and I think they could do better. Overnight room was very quiet, ideal for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was a great service , very polite staff and a great continental fruit selection. Vegan options again could be better , sausage was low quality - choices need updating . Fresh fruit and juice plus oat milk was well received. Easy check out process no complaints. The limited food would probably put me off from a return visit , there’s not much else in the area to compete either. Hopefully they update the menu soon.

Open to non residents and does not appear to be widely advertised. They do a very good hot and cold breakfast buffet with additional menu items like eggs benedict also included. Not the cheapest but with tea, coffee and juice refills included and a few nice touches worth giving it a try.

I visited the Olde Bell with family, it was an unexpected visit, and what a delight this place was. we sat in the garden area and enjoyed delicious food along with a wide selection of drink choices. having not been to the venue before as we was just visiting family, we were quite inquisitive about what the venue facilities were and the history. Vincent was so accommodating with all our questions and really knowledgeable. I cant remember his name think it was Dom, but his service was fantastic and he seemed to know everyone, overall the staff were all very friendly. perfect place for a family with children as they have a very large garden for the kids to run around. food was delicious. Having stayed elsewhere for our family visit, I am looking forward to staying at the Olde Bell next time we are there. I would definitely recommend and have already made plans to visit in the future, as Vincent had mentioned they sometimes do live music which we would be keen to see.

The pub and grounds are lovely, the rooms are disgusting. Arrived for a 2 night stay. I targeted this because it was literally in between the locations I needed to be. Arrival was good, on my way to my room in little to no time at all with clear instructions. I had a smile as I arrived toward the secluded courtyard, but took warning of the sign which read 'uneven path'. This wasn't an issue, it was the moss and algae coverage making it super slippery. Now this wasn't an issue for me - but a warning to others who may not be so able. I opened the door and immediately noticed the water stains and peeled paint on the ceiling - what a shame - the nervous expectation of something great was ruined immediately. Unfortunately it didn't get better, far from it. Where to start... No headboard for the beds so the pillows rest up to where grease/dirt marks are on the walls from previous sleepers heads - this was grim....!!! Table had a massive black stain; Every wall was scuffed to hell The floor was horrific, definitely hadn't been swept in a while Not a single window sill had been wiped - in a very long time Curtains mouldy from the floor to about metre high and some bizarre and questionable stains on them Every skirting board - none a single one has been wiped, dare I say - ever Previous paint colours on the radiator Bed frame damaged - sharp corners - watch your shins Bathroom no better, silicone filthy - which should be the easiest material to keep clean right. The bed itself was comfortable and the shower hot. But even the blanket on the bedding was stained. The whole place needs a serious rethink about what standards of cleaning they have. To top it of the room didn't have towels so I had to go to reception and pick these up myself. Seems almost irrelevant now. On checking out I gave the feedback and was promised it would be logged as a complaint - I followed up with an email and the response was - thanks for your feedback, our apologies - it has now been deep cleaned. Zero sincerity. I'll forward this and the video I took to BW head office and ask them if this is the standard of their 'signature' collection - whatever than means. The photos are me screenshotting them from the video which doesn't show it in its worst light.

My wife and I stayed one night on 26th May. We stayed in room 34. The room was part of a block of 5 rooms. The interconnecting walls were so thin you could hear everything from adjacent rooms through them. With the window closed as per hotel instructions the room was uncomfortably hot making sleep very difficult. Breakfast costs £16.95 but there was only scrambled eggs available, no fried or poached eggs. The hash browns were soggy. All items were cold. We expected better for the cost. A shame because the hotel is in a lovely quiet pretty village.

Last minute decision to book a night away with an absolute bargain of a price. We were given a lovely surprise with an upgraded room. All Staff were brilliant with a big shout out to Robyn for her fantastic multitasking customer service; from being front of desk, bar and food service ( also training a new member of staff at the same time). Being a Best Western, most menus are pretty much the same from suppliers. Food we ordered was good and well cooked; on par with what I would say a M&B’s Vintage inn or Country inn. Breakfast was plentiful with a hot menu to choose from and continental while it’s being cooked. Only negatives I would say were, that the mattress to the bed is coming to its end and need of replacing ( I guess we are spoilt with our own at home). Also, menu had a few items missing, but again, I’m guessing it was the end of a busy bank holiday weekend and no deliveries on the Sunday/Monday. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel due to its history and lovely village, close to the river setting. Would I come back again, yes I would.

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. The grounds are stunning with so many walking paths. The food was outstanding and the service was by far the best part of our experience. The team seemed to care about every guest the served and a massive shout out to Dom in particular who made extra time for our little one during our stay. I would highly recommend a visit to this hotel, the rooms are beautiful with a large bath as a feature in ours and we are looking at booking to barn for our wedding next year.
