My expectations were set fairly low, but this hotel failed to meet them. To start with, the entire facility seems way overdue for a major remodel. The carpet shows major wear and the lighting made the place seem old and dingy. The mattress in my room was way too hard, to the point that it was difficult to get to sleep. When I finally did get to sleep, the heating unit kicked on and the noise was excruciating. It sounded like it was going to come apart. I had to find the thermostat setting that turned it off and then started the process of getting back to sleep on that horrible mattress. When I got up and went to breakfast, things got worse. The selection and quality were very poor. The only saving grace was the waffle station. Another issue that did not affect me was the shower. There were grab bars and a folding seat for disabled guests which I did not need, but I appreciate for those that do. However, the hand held shower head was hooked up about 7 feet above the tub floor. Any guest who needed the assistive devices would not have been able to reach it. I must say that the reason I rated the hotel poor instead of terrible is that the staff I had interacted with were pleasant and seemed like they did care about the guest’s experience. However, the issues were not within their ability to fix.
