Wag Hill Lodge & Spa

We came here on 5th April 2026 with family and went to the restaurant next to zebra lounge from 4pm to 5.40p.m.. the only service we got as the waiter brought the menu to us and left. No one came to attend to us. We tried calling the waiter/ the reception to place our orders and the only thing its wait a minute and the never said it they just gave us gestures. Worst part is there were Indian guys next table and they would attend to them but pass us like we dont matter. Worst service i would never recommend the place to anyone i feel like i wasted my money because i paid entrance fee for such crap service. I even called the reception to report and the answer i got is why are you calling us if you are at the restaurant? When i question him where should i report then he responded okay i am calling them to come and attend to you but still no one came. It such a nice place but bad service.

This place is purely miracle , you find everything in one place , adventure ! Our room tent facing lake Victoria so breathtaking . Saimon recommended us to try speed boat cruise and it really went well, we went hiking and see the lion , also there is animal zoo . We also did a horse riding. The green environment, great service and tasty tilapia fish . We will come back again.

Had a lovely time with family, Beautiful scenery and well kept rooms with a beautiful view of the lake victoria. Lots of activities to do for adults and children. Definitely going back.

It was amaizing experience at this beautiful lodge with natural invoronment, boat ride in the lake Victoria and Zoo. We stayed for three days with family , we really enjoyed Zoo breakfast with Zebra and Antelopes. We also had a room facing the lake, and the boat riding was also nice. Breathtaking view of lake victoria with very taste tillapia. The service was nice and defenetely will come back again.

They have a good customer service, we were warmly welcomed,,the rooms and the surroundings are very nice keeping the guests comfortable all the time.I enjoyed watching and feeding the animals found in their zoo. It is a wonderful place for relaxation

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. The Cottage with plunge pool had an excellent view of lake Victoria and was tastefully decorated. For a tall person( 5'10) ,I must say there beds are quite spacious and comfortable. The hotel is surrounded by nature and makes for a quiet , chilled out spot. The waterbuck restaurant as well as the zebra lounge have a perfect view of the lake . Food was tasty as well. Staff were polite, pleasant and helpful. I would only recommend they add variety to the breakfast menu but other than that Waghill is an excellent hotel . You get bang for your buck

A Gem in mwanza on lake Victoria it was a amazing stay very quiet n peaceful every single penny n every single moment was worth staying all day long birds singing n cool breeze with a beautiful mesmerizing lake view n the dinning experience was Grt as the restaurant is well placed at times u see the water moving n u feel like u r in a boat n boat is moving the food was yum especially fish n chips menu is nice n all the activities is also very good u can collectively enjoy outdoor activities with family or friends trust me u won’t get bored at all n the staff very super friendly n helpful n big thanks to lassanti she was like ever smiling n always thr to assist us thank u waghill it was a Grt stay hope to be there again …

No, no no, and again, no. For the price, we literally just sat in the dark from 6pm to 10 pm and went to bed. The food was fine, the rooms were fine and view/location were beautiful. But the infrastructure is falling apart (a *huge* tree branch laden with about 15 potted plants cracked and fell 3 metres from where we were standing - for no reason but age - we would have been severely injured should any of us be standing underneath). The power went out - that's not unusual - but there's no generator, no solar lights (eco lodge?) and not even a candle or lantern to get us back to our tent. The best part of the place was one person - the waiter - who moved heaven and earth to try to deal with the constant calamities - but where were the manager / reception? We tried to call them several times (no electricity means no wifi, by the way); we tried to call reception - she had gone home. Tried to call the manager - he *hung up the phone* on the waiter twice. Clearly didn't care at all. We were told on check-in that Agoda (our booking agent) was taking the money and not paying the property; and what were we going to do about that - we should have left then. Even, when seeing the horrid state of the road, all washed out in places, and quite dangerous - we should have turned around then. This place has lost whatever glow it once had. A final note? No eco centre should host a sad zoo with a few mal-treated 'local' animals like lions, zebra and camels (???). Heartbreaking and so so so sad for those animals.

the manager was so distracted when ever we needed his attention . the property is amazing far from the city but amazing is you want quite after a long vacation ., no liquor or pork property is muslim ran that we did not know so bring your liquor if you want it., lots of children perfect for family
