Avoncourt Lodge

Fantastic good old fashioned bed and breakfast. Lovely hosts and smashing breakfast. Can’t recommend this place enough.

On arrival we were met by one of the owners, who was very friendly and informative. She continued to be so throughout our stay, giving us ideas of where to go and even offering us a lift into town. The other owner we only saw at breakfast but she was equally friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were delicious, filling and healthy ( fresh fruit salad with yoghurt)

Good Value, a bit dated, amazing staff & breakfast To be honest, my heart sunk when we first arrived, the approach to the Lodge and general outside looks quite unkempt, and a bit scruffy. The reception, bar, breakfast and lounge areas all quite old fashioned and basic, also bedrooms where quite dated and everything in need of refurbishment. but saying that the staff and breakfasts really made up for it, the place seemed clean, and the bed was comfy, I enjoyed a lovely hot bath & nice fluffy white towels. all of the staff were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was way and above expectations. so for the price we paid all in all it turned out okay.

fantastic Band B for a short stay , stayed for 3 nights and owners cannot do enough even carried luggage in , situated about 10-15 walk from main ***** of town which believe me is needed after the very filling and extremely tasty breakfast you are offered fruit pots and yogurt to cereal to full English i had the lot everyday , rooms are OK smell fresh and daily looked at with towels and everything else you need replenished like tea coffee hot chocolate and even cookies , great advice given on where to visit was advised to go to Lynmouth and lynton so so glad we did its beautiful. 2 of the best hosts we have ever encountered , so nice and polite, great prices to not over charged and left feeling what a lovely place and not ripped off when so many b and b's hike their prices for time of year , well done both will defiantly return . thanks , Darren & Nicola

I had a lovely stay at the Avoncourt Lodge. It's a little away from the main centre of activity in Ilfracome - but as a result, it's got a quiet, tucked-away feel (although with great views over the town). It's a a fairly easy walk down to the centre and harbour area (a little harder on the way back up, but not too hard), and on the way there you are rewarded with sea/cliff views a couple of minutes' walk from Avoncourt Lodge. The place itself has an older vibe - maybe you'd place it in the 1980s. But it's well-maintained and spotless, so it's a nice homely feeling. Breakfast is served to your table, and is fresh with good produce. The welcome was warm, and everything had good attention to detail. I'd certainly love to stay here again next time I am in Ilfracome.

A lovely little B&B close to the centre of Ilfracombe. Room was clean and well sized and the owners/staff and breakfast were great.
