First time here and will definitely return! Friendly staff, easy check in and out. Parking right at your cabin. Places to sit and relax or lots of little spots near by to hike or view. Yes.. the train runs right beside it, but it really makes it authenticity Canadian. Small store with lots to offer, including wine and they have a gas pump!

The trains runs right by the property and toots throughout the night. Earplugs are provided but this was not mentioned on the website. Not good for light sleepers. Cabin suite were clean and stocked well.

had the sausages and marchmallows and soda drinks as an extra and was very good! local too! good for everyone! Comfortable bed, but think it is a bit narrow for a queen. Any problems remedied immediately! great! loved the osprey lounge for place to go for extra space and even managed a short stint of pingpong on my bad feet. Great fun! Beautiful scenery, great staff! Would come again, even with the train!

Have been coming here for over 30 years and it never disappoints- very quiet getaway in the heart of Banff national park. The little store onsite has anything you might have for to bring.. can’t wait to return!

I actually went to Castle Mountain Chalet in June of 2020 in peak covid times. Honestly, it was amazing! We were able to witness a freak rain and hail storm from our covered patio deck and enjoy a cozy fire each night. The bow river parkway that leads to my favorite hike in Johnston's Canyon was closed to vehicular traffic at the time but we biked there and it was truly magical. It's just a quick 15 minute drive to Banff town and the on site store had all the necessities and toiletries you need; but for a cost $$$. We had a grizzly bear wandering around one evening but she didn't seem to care much about the locals. They were very accommodating when we returned the follow summer during a heat wave to refund our trip as we were travelling with a new born at the time. Lovely experience.
