DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! WORST hotel experience I've had IN MY LIFE!!!! I stayed at The Alexander hotel in Indianapolis while in town for my grandmother's funeral. Instead of offering paying guests a comfortable and safe place to rest during their travels, they will let ANYONE enter the hotel and treat guests like absolute garbage and do NOTHING about it!!!! After attending the funeral, I went to their restaurant/bar adjacent to the lobby for *one* drink before bed. I had jet lag and thought a drink might help me sleep. The restaurant/bar looked like a relatively quiet place each time I'd past it. It's known for its breakfast service--NOT as a dive bar for nasty locals who threaten hotel guests. Midway through my drink, a large group of rowdy locals came in. They were extremely loud, drunk, and completely changed the ambiance/vibe of the place. One of them walked up to me and told me I should leave because they wanted the space where I was sitting and "want to party." I said no, I'm not leaving; I'm finishing my drink and they can wait. (I was a paying guest afterall--who just attended the funeral of my mother's mother; my mother who died when I was just 8 years old.) This woman wouldn't leave me alone. She continued to harass and harass and harass me. I repeated myself: "Leave me alone. Leave me alone. Leave me alone." Until she FINALLY left. But then she continued to speak negatively about me in a threatening way several feet away. Ten minutes later, she walked BACK over to where I was seated and sat down RIGHT NEXT TO ME on the sofa. Extremely intimidating. I asked her, "Do you not have boundaries?" I told l her to stop harassing me and that I just went to funeral. She reached out her hand to touch me and I said, "Don't touch me!" Then all her other friends came over and started harassing and bullying me!!! It's so insane that I finally stood up, while they continued being nasty, and threw the last two drops of my drink in their direction. I've literally never done anything like that in my life. I was SO scared by these people, these awful, threatening bullies corning me--omg, what a nightmare. Meanwhile this AWFUL hotel did NOTHING about it. NOT A SINGLE EMPLOYEE DID A THING TO HELP ME, LIFT A FINGER, TOLD THEM LEAVE, OR INTERVENED. They DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AS A GUEST AT ALL. I was dumbfounded. I spent $900 at this crappy hotel with rooms that smell like Windex filled with beaten-up furniture, only to be left to the dogs by clueless 20-something-year-old hotel staff with ZERO hospitality skills. I hate this place. I wish I never came here. Spend your dollars at the Le Méridien or JW Marriot. This place is a living nightmare.
