Radisson Blu Hotel, Indore

Good stay overall

Class, all you need and the rooftop pool was perfect. Best thing about it though were the chicken tikka sandwiches you could order to your room or the pool, they were the best thing I’ve ever eaten. See attached.

Please just pay the extra money and stay at the Marriott hotel that is in pretty much the same location. My review and experience is as follows. First of all, upon checking in with my party, there was some fuss made to all of us about why we had not arrived to the hotel on the day that we arrived into India. For context we had been to Mumbai before this stay although I am not sure why this is anything to do with the hotel and no other hotel has ever asked us for this in India or on the same stay. So that initially was not the best welcome. Upon completing this arduous check in process, the person on check in then proceeded to hold my passport while telling me she gave it to me. After checking, I then received my illusive passport back to my great delight! Next, by the time I got to my room and the porters had brought the suitcase up to our room, the handle had been broken. Please see the photos attached. I do not understand how this happens. There was no explanation offered just simply that it was broken. I understand and appreciate that these things happen but as we are going on to attend a wedding, I needed that specific suitcase as it is the only one I have found that was able to hold all the clothes we need. Nevertheless, we woke up the next day and went about with our schedule and thankfully the rest of the people of Indore are not as useless as the staff we had so far encountered in the hotel. When leaving the hotel we then had a discussion with the manager of the porters who also had seemed to have left his brain in the bin the previous day. Thankfully one of his team had remembered to engage his brain and managed to get the suitcase handle fixed that same day! He was such a gentleman as well and refused multiple attempts to tip him. Now, back to the manager of the porters. He refused to acknowledge that the hotel had in fact broken my suitcase handle yet acknowledged that it had been “repaired”. After this, we simply wanted a statement that had been signed by themselves to acknowledge that it had been broken for our ensuing insurance claim, which would not blame anyone, by the way, but this was again refused. They themselves offered security footage the previous night but this was then mysteriously lost by the day it was repaired but also not repaired if you know what I mean. This is just the suitcase. Now, get yourself a refreshing beverage as I proceed. Getting to the room and atmosphere. The air conditioning (referred to as AC henceforth) was about equivalent to somebody with heavy asthma coughing on you occasionally. This is in terms of performance. The sound somehow sounds like two dinner plates being rubbed together. This is the first time I have ever heard this sound and, for reference, was much louder than the ambient traffic noise outside. The only staff that had any idea of service apart from my illustrious suitcase repairer were the cleaning team who kept us stocked up with extra water. So we have done suitcase and room, le
