"Always as good as ever, extremely satisfied! This isn't my first time staying at this hotel. We come to the seaside every New Year's Eve, and this year I came with friends. The hotel even upgraded us to two deluxe sea-view twin rooms for free, which was a nice touch and made us feel special! On New Year's Day morning, we could watch the sunrise right from our room – truly enjoyable! The only downside was that fireworks were banned at the beach this year, which made New Year's Eve a bit dull."

"My friend and I stumbled upon this hotel while driving through Qinhuangdao, and it really exceeded our expectations. The room was much bigger than we thought, the toilet was smart, and the floor-to-ceiling window overlooked the sea (if you book a sea-view room, of course). The bed was also very comfortable. It's the perfect spot to watch the sunrise, the view is truly amazing! Great value for money! The sea-view rooms can be a bit chilly facing the ocean, so bring thick pajamas if you're coming in winter."

"We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is conveniently located right by the beach and commercial areas. There are many restaurants and several convenience stores within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and very clean. We tried two of the restaurants inside the hotel — one offering upscale Chinese food and the other seafood buffet, both were excellent. Will definitely choose Shangri-La again if we come back to Qinghuangdao in the future."

"Everything was great, room is clean, stuff is friendly. During winter time the location is not great coz all the shops around are closed even KFC and Starbucks but this not hotel’s fault. The breakfast is a bit Chinese but foreigners also can find a lot of options to eat. The only thing I didn’t like is that during the breakfast there was a jar of Nutella but in fact that wasn’t Nutella just some cheap chocolate spread - just use another jar so people won’t be confused."

GGuest UserBooked two days from Ctrip.com. When we checked in at less than five in the afternoon, the elevator was under maintenance. We climbed the stairs to the fourth floor. We thought the environment was OK, the sanitary conditions were OK, and the facilities were relatively new, so we didn't mind staying there. Then we went out with the children and went back at about 9:40 in the evening. Because we were tired after running outside all day, we were ready to wash and rest. As a result, the water flowing out of the faucet was red and yellow, mixed with mud. I called the front desk twice before a young man came and said he would deal with it immediately. I kept draining the water from the room, but the water quality didn't change. I called the front desk again and they replied that they would change our room to the front floor. After that, no one paid attention to us anymore. I felt that the service of this hotel was average, the breakfast was average, and there were not many varieties. In short, I felt that it was not worth the high price. The first picture attached is the water quality at the beginning, and the next one is half an hour after draining the water.

__ZFB886588****An older hotel, but the facilities are still complete and the room was pretty clean. You can't expect too much from an old hotel. It's best to take a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the station; don't just jump into a shared ride, you might get ripped off. It's just outside the city wall, and I personally think staying here is more comfortable than inside the wall. Among the performances, only the iron flower show is worth seeing, but you absolutely need to get there early to secure a good spot, otherwise, you won't be able to watch. The commercial streets are all pretty much the same!

GG. Solo TravelerJ had a lovely stay at the Argyle resort and the fact that you just need to cross the parking lot to get to the Dongshan Bathing Spot is definitely amazing! There are some tourist attractions close by, but very far from historical sites.
The room was ok, but it looked different from the pictures. Probably a bit of mold on the wall or water damage, dirty windows, and a piece of the wardrobe door was broken. Not what I would expect at a resort.
The breakfast had so many options, but very few western choices, limited to sliced bread, butter and jam, yogurt, fruits and coffee. The coffee machine always had an issue, but the staff quickly came to fix it. During my stay there, everyday someone complained about the coffee maker.
One of the things that I found really nice is that every day they would bring or leave fruit in my room. But on the last day, I was sleeping, and someone came in. She did apologize, but it was weird having someone in your room while you’re there.
In terms of amenities, they have everything really! From shower cap to razors. And the blow dryer was really good!
Because it was golden week, the staff was overwhelmed with work (lots of guests and weddings) and they didn’t talk about the facilities - gym, pool, hot springs.

· Incredible service: The owner was warm and welcoming, providing detailed instructions from check-in to travel guides. He was always responsive and felt like a friend.
· Perfect experience: Quiet amidst the hustle and bustle, I slept soundly at night. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the rooms are clean and tidy, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Shanhaiguan; it's an absolute value for money!

RRichterA true 5 Star experience. The room is top notch with a large window overlooking the sea. Service is outstanding in all categories. Breakfast is full and rich. The hotel dinner buffet is so extraordinary that I say you must try it at least once! We were amazed at the variety of dishes and the quality. Hotel location is perfect. Just a few minutes walk and you can have your feet in the sand or water. The Qinhuang Alley Food Street is also within walking distance or very short cab ride. This food street is very lively and fun to visit especially in the evening. Two other recommendations for things to do are Lao Long Tou (Old Dragon Head) which you can get to by cab. And if you are a fan of the Olympics you really should visit Olympic Avenue Park. Amazing relief sculpture wall over 300 meters long portraying Olympic history. Must be seen to be believed. Thank you to all the friendly and professional staff and chefs at Grand Hotel Qinhuang for making our 4 night stay so enjoyable. Qinhuangdao is a wonderful city with so many different things to do and experience we hope we can return again.

YYumendelierenWhen checking in, all the staff at the front desk (at least four) were not very kind, not enthusiastic at all, mechanical, and it was obvious that there was a lack of training and disorderly. During the processing process, I asked me to pay a 200 deposit. I said that the food bar in the room was charged. I was afraid that the guests would not pay for it. I decisively refused and clearly told me that I would not eat. The staff at the front desk immediately changed their faces from mechanical processing to ignoring... I just made do with it for one night. What to say, I found out that the room next door was a wedding room. It would be very noisy early the next morning. In order to rest well, I asked for a room change. A staff member who changed the room for me made me feel like a spring breeze. It should be a deputy manager at the front desk (this kind of hotel position can't be so detailed, I have the impression that the badge shows this position), and I didn't have time to ask the name. Not only did I actively solve the problem, but also gave me two breakfasts, and the attitude was very good. To be honest, if it weren't for this staff, I wouldn't have five-star praise. I hope the hotel can praise this staff well.

The service is also super good, especially Feng Ting at the front desk, who is very enthusiastic. She also took the initiative to inform the activity time. If there is a problem, it will be solved immediately. The service is superb. I will go again next time.

GGuest UserThe room was nice, if a little small. The garden room has its own courtyard on the first floor, and right outside it is the beach. 🏖️ It's perfect for families with children.
There were some damaged facilities, but the staff helped report it and a technician repaired it shortly after.
The breakfast could be more varied, and the main course was a little cold. During peak hours, it can be crowded, so you have to wait a bit, but the staff cleans up quickly.
I'd still choose Yuntinghai next time I bring children.

GGuest UserIt was such an unique experience to stay in a hotel inside the ancient city wall, it felt like travelled back to China in the olden days.
As it was off-peak season when we visited 山海关，we were upgraded to a family room, which mean there is a separate bedroom with a single bed, on top of a master room with a double bed.
As it was rather cold and we were tired from all the walking, we decided to make life easy by eating at the restaurant within the hotel. We didn't expect much though. But..., we were much much more than surprise the dishes were Ace standard, be it in presentation or taste! A big big thumb up!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, we really enjoyed the service extended to us! It is no doubt hotel staff in China places their guests at top priority, making them feel at home at all times.
P.S the teapot was not filled with tea but a yummilicious 松茸汤。

The beach is nice and surprisingly clean. Sadly there is a construction ongoing which splits the beach up causing a limited enjoyment.
Regarding the hotel. Amazing entrance!
The hotel is made for several 100, when not even 1000 people! But you can clearly see that this amount of visitors causes the material to dissolve. That's quite sad.
We went there in a high frequent moment. Causing reduced service availability and options but they try their best.
