So for a 4* hotel I would have expected something better and have stayed and had better breakfasts in many 3* hotels.
The restaurant was uncomfortable and you felt like you were in a canteen. No tablecloths, not even in the evening.
The food selection is better in any small inn. We only ate here once, but it tasted good.
The rooms are very narrow, the bathroom is a bit of an imposition. If one person was sitting on the toilet, it was not possible for a second person to get into the bathroom because they were sitting right in front of the door. It was difficult to get toilet paper because you were stuck between the wall and the sink.
The cupboard (approx. 80 cm) was so squeezed into the corner that it was difficult to get to.
Hardly usable for 2 people. The main thing was that the thick safe took up an entire shelf...
The bar was also a no-go.
You were sitting as if on display right in the drafty entrance area, which always seemed "dirty" due to the weather, as everyone walked through there in their street shoes.

We had a good rest for the weekend and felt very well looked after. The breakfast buffet was sufficient, although a few details were missing in one place or another, e.g. syrup for the absolutely delicious pancakes or the signage for the food on offer.
What urgently needs to be revised is the lighting concept in the rooms. There are only a few lamps in the hallway and sleeping area and they are very dim. Furthermore, the pillows were too small for us, perhaps additional pillows could be stored in the wardrobe.
The cleanliness of the rooms was OK, although the glass marks of the previous guests were still visible on the bedside tables and the bed sheets had brown stains.
As a dog owner, I have to complain that I am allowed to go on holiday with my dog, but he has to stay alone in the room in an environment that is completely unfamiliar to him while his owner goes out to eat. Perhaps there will be an option to share the restaurant so that other guests are not disturbed. I understand the situation, but I am allowed to take my dog with me to restaurants, cafes, etc. I don't understand that. For me, this rules out a longer holiday in this hotel as I don't want to spend the whole holiday eating separately from my partner.

We decided at short notice to go on a relaxing holiday and came across "Das Wiesgauer Alpenhotel" ... friendly staff, very clean and very good food ... it was the best choice ... we would love to go back ... 😀

The positives: Restaurant staff very good, friendly, helpful and hard-working. Reception: from very friendly and courteous to pure handling, sauna area OK, inviting, service and attentive, friendly and communicative. Room service not daily but according to guests' wishes, very positive. The price variant for parking is good. Hairdryer in the sauna has no mirror and is from the 60s. Sauna towels are too small, breakfast egg not warm, 2 bowls for only a few guests, soup at the buffet not hot either. 2 bowls also pull skin, you could refill one when one bowl is empty. (According to the number of guests.) It's a visual treat. Paper napkins that are laid out beforehand are collected unused and put back in the collection box. Everyone could cover their own needs there, but different people have already had their hands on them? Toilet in the room "A fat guy" has no chance Your billing: to check the accuracy, you have to laboriously extract the individual items from the receipts. Very unusual. We really enjoyed our stay at the Wiesengauer. We were given a friendly welcome and provided with all the necessary information. In the evening we met the waiter Alberto in the hotel's own restaurant, who served us every evening. It was a pleasure to interact with him, as he provided excellent service and was very friendly and courteous. The dishes on the menu can also be recommended. They are of high quality and absolutely inexpensive. The hotel is practically at the foot of the mountains, which means you can enjoy a wonderful view from every room. The hotel's own small sauna area also convinced us.
