We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. The copper bath rooms with a view of the marina are so beautiful. Beds are super comfortable and there's plenty of space. Staff are friendly and efficient. We're already looking forward to coming back!

10/10 this hotel deserves top marks fabulous, I brought my passengers to this hotel, I’m the coach driver for J.A.K travel Sandbeds Keighley West Yorkshire and this hotel was our place for the week, can I say a big thank you to ALL the staff at this hotel, fabulous excellent brilliant Can’t fault this hotel as a whole from the staff the rooms the food the restaurant the reception all areas I may haven’t mentioned…. I’ve been to a lot of hotels with my job and this is one that I would return with my family and definitely with a coach…

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in this waterfront hotel with its quirky decor! Rooms were spacious, comfortable and quiet. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast, especially as it was served at the table which made a pleasant change from the usual buffet style. Choice was excellent and hot food freshly cooked and delicious .We were a big group and the staff were friendly and patient. We had our evening meal there one evening and again, staff worked hard and the food was excellent.

Nice location and a pleasant room, Views are lovely too. Would recommend a stay here but had also had good stays elsewhere in the area.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in April 2024. Its very conveniently located just a 10 minute walk to the regent theatre (although its not a particularly nice walk!) and a 20 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is right on the quay so has lovely views. The room was really nicely decorated, in keeping with the original features of the building, exposed brick and pillars. The bed was uncomfortable and was quite a poor quality mattress for a hotel of this type. As others have commented, the toilets are very low down which i imagine could be challenging for those with mobility issues. We had an evening meal in the hotels restaurant, it was an early bird offer of £35 for 3 courses, between 5-6pm. It was good value for money and the food was nice.

As excellent as always. Returning again to my place from home. Thanks for always taking care of me. Could do with a change up of restaurant menu, offering more options at a more competitive price. Maybe some basics that aren't all sauce based or rich, as many people can't digest such rich food.

Scarily, last stayed here in 2017! This time Wivenhoe Manor Hotel, (see separate review), so just dropping in for Drinks and Sandwiches. Still Arty, still friendly Staff, and the location has not changed. Understandably #1 amongst Ipswich Hotels. Only negtive, served with an undressed Salad. Hayling Seagoon

Pretty good - staff were brilliant and attentive, room was nice, spacious and comfortable with excellent views. The supplied coffee bags were pretty weak and tasteless. Bathroom was small, amenities were good - shame no walk in shower. Dinner in the restaurant was ok and well presented even if the beef brisket dish wasn't to my taste. Breakfast was mixed at best - the grill was tasty but items were not hot. Same with the next day when i had Eggs Benedict - all cold. Tasted good - but stone cold. Lastly the French Press coffee at breakfast was terrible - weak, warm and just not good. Toast was barely warmed up - certainly wasn't toast. We would return, but probably go elsewhere for breakfast
