My recent experience at Riverside Lodge Hotel left me deeply disappointed and dissatisfied with the integrity and transparency of their Housekeeping Department. On the morning of April 13th, 2024, my husband and I checked out of the hotel, only to realize shortly after leaving that we had left a wallet in our room. Despite contacting the hotel immediately and requesting assistance from a relative still on-site, the housekeeping staff denied finding the wallet, despite thorough searches under the bed. After returning to the hotel and personally inspecting the room, the wallet was eventually found by the housekeeping staff, but not without significant discrepancies in its contents, indicating tampering. This lack of transparency and apparent mishandling of the situation by the housekeeping department left me deeply disturbed. Furthermore, the excuses provided by the hotel staff throughout the ordeal were inadequate and only served to exacerbate the situation. Despite the eventual recovery of the wallet, the damage to my perception of the establishment was irreversible. I have formally lodged a complaint and requested a thorough investigation into this matter. I expect appropriate action to be taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Additionally, I have requested that the head of operations be fully briefed on this incident and held accountable for the lapses in service. Overall, my experience at Riverside Lodge Hotel was marred by dishonesty and a lack of integrity, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to others.
