We went to the Tides Inn for our Mini Honeymoon and loved how relaxing the place was. The staff was polite and courteous, they gave us a nice newlyweds gift for our room and the resort was so peaceful.

Beautiful setting and friendly staff. We had an issue with our room and they quickly moved us to an upgraded room at no extra cost for the trouble. Staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the grounds.

The Tides Inn enjoys a beautiful location with scenic grounds and a lovely view of the creek. The property is tired but is undergoing some renovations. Our room was dated and the shower leaked terribly but it was clean with nice amenities. We ordered room service for breakfast and dinner and the food was a major disappointment. Our breakfast order arrived quickly but the tray was missing mugs and cream for the coffee, as requested. The orange juice was also missing and the food was not prepared in accordance with our request. I ordered oatmeal, plain, with no sugar or toppings. It arrived covered in brown sugar that had turned into syrup. But the dinner order was the worst. It was barely edible. I ordered pasted with pesto and shrimp. There was not one shrimp in the dish and the pesto sauce was extremely thick and heavy and looked like the Grinch vomited on a plate. There was more sauce than pasta and it tasted awful. It was disgraceful. We were also there at the hotel to attend funeral service in the Cove Room. The function room is so dated and should not be in service. In addition to being dark, dingy, and tired, the light bulbs (that worked) were blinking, the weather *****ping on the door was gone and freezing cold air was coming in, and the banquet chairs were all stained. It was very sad. I will commend the staff though for being rapidly responsive when things were brought to their attention.

I had the pleasure of spending a week at this resort for a business retreat. I thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the space. The restaurants had wonderful cuisine. The staff assisted in obtaining local excursions and the overall aesthetic is relaxation.

We stayed at The Tides Inn for just two nights in early April and really wish we could've stayed longer. The staff is hospitable and helpful. We especially appreciated and enjoyed our server in the dining room (a young lady from Mexico). And even though the restaurant was in temporary quarters, the food was outstanding. Even though the property is going through a fair amount of renovation, they have provided sufficient workarounds that it didn't interfere with our stay. The room was quite comfortable, especially the bed. We would come back in a heartbeat.

We found Tides Inn through an article about dog friendly weekend trips. Our two teenagers wanted to bring our pup with us for a long weekend over spring break. I'm so glad we went! We signed up for several of the Experiences offered by Tides Inn. Paint and Pinot (teenagers had mocktails), Tides Inn Tea, and Chesapeake Gold (oyster tour guided by an ecologist). I recommend all of them! We also enjoyed the bikes that are available for guests. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The staff was super friendly and professional. We were able to get adjoining rooms that had water views. The rooms are charming with lots of nice details. We enjoyed the town and shops (limited hours when we were there). This wasn't a cheap trip but I really appreciated the quality. There is construction going on but the activity seemed limited to Tuesday afternoons through Thursday mornings maybe? Was not an issue for us. Definitely want to go back!

Staff was great. Room was clean. Rooms was spacious and clean. Bathroom was perfect (big). views were lovely of the water. There was a light fixture hanging from our ceiling in our room but that was a minimal thing during our stay. Lots to do, lots of options within walking distance but it was raining so we drove. Construction is taking place currently so be aware of that. Beware of hidden fees for in room service as I was not aware of a delivery fee and taxed on top of that. We visited the spa and it was perfect. The staff, the massages all the way till just before the end when the relaxation was broken due to noise above the room. I do not know if there were people staying above this room or if it was part of the construction. Either way, it deflated the great experience I was having.
