Excellence Playa Mujeres - Adults Only All Inclusive

Great service, fabulous food and very clean. You’ll want for nothing at this resort as they go out of their way to please you. Beach was free of sargassum, pools are spotless plenty of lounge chairs and Bali beds. Drinks are plentiful!!! Go and enjoy!! Rooms are spacious and clean!!!

This was our 6th time at EPM since 2020. While things have changed over the years, the thing that continues to set this place apart is the staff. The grounds are so immaculate and such care is put into your surroundings to make you feel the luxury. The servers and bartenders make you feel at home by truly caring about your experience and remembering you and your named from previous visits. Cesar is the best bartender in the brand at this! Angel at Chez Isabel made the last meal of our trip so memorable by remembering us from a year ago, and giving us a unique dining experience based on our tastes. Jacqueline in management is so kind and truly cares about your experience and goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy everything about your stay. This past visit, we renewed our vows, and Paola was amazing! Her heart is so big and she felt like family in just the short time we spent with her. She is so good at her job and she made our moment more special than we could have imagined. We are forever advocates for this resort and love the second home we have here.

Great service, OK food, perfect weather. Special thanks to Gustavo for looking after us during the day with pool seevice and Ceaser and Gamaliel in the evening at the Martini bar, you guys elevated our experience to 5 stars. Room was great. Only issue was mosquitos at the outdoor restaurants one one night.

This was our 7th trip to Excellence Playa Mujeres and we had an amazing time. Here are the things we loved and a few things that we believe have deteriorated since our previous visits. The food is amazing. I never had a bad meal. With nine restaurants to choose from there is so much variety too! The staff is very friendly. Special shout out to the amazing mixologist, Caesar at the martini bar. I usually ask him to make me something with my favorite flavors and it comes out amazing. We had an Excellence Club swim up suite and we loved the option of being our our patio and hopping in the pool. The gym is also really big with all the equipment you could possibly need. Here are the things that we weren't as happy with: Lunch options. There is no quick option to grab lunch. You have to go to a sit-down restaurant or get some pizza from the bar which isn't really a meal. There used to be a buffet-style mexican place on the beach but now that's a sit-down restaurant with limited options. And they used to have an indoor breakfast buffet that was quick, but that has disappeared entirely. We usually ended up skipping lunch for this reason, and just getting snacks from the coffee shop. Service on the beach. Even in the Excellence Club area, the service on the beach was slow. We knew we could order lunch from the staff, but that took over an hour and they got my order wrong. So this kind of goes back to my previous point about the lunch options. Lids for drinks at the coffee shop. People want to bring their coffees (iced or hot) onto the beach but without a lid, sand will blow into it. I understand they are trying to save on costs but it's feasible to have an iced coffee without a lid on the beach. The room cleaning service was also lacking from previous visits with our mini bar not being restocked as often and our room not being cleaned a few times. Overall, the resort still gets a 5.0, but these are a few things we noticed that weren't as good as previous visits. We would hate to see our favorite resort decline, so it would be great for them to address these things!

We love our trips to Excellence Playa Mujeres and go twice a year. We are diamond members and always pay extra for Excellence Club because of the extras we get. The biggest selling point for us is the excellent service from most of the staff, the nightly entertainment, the beautiful beach, and the daily activities. We really like a couple of changes they have made like moving the coffee bar and the sports bar to bigger locations. I have reviewed this resort a few times already, so I'll go straight to the pros and cons. Pros - I enjoy all of the daily activities, particularly pickle ball and volleyball, and Monica and her team do a great job of engaging with the guests. I especially want to praise Naomi and Jesus for learning my name the first day and making the activities fun. And it's always great to see my buddy Monica. We enjoy most of the restaurants at EPM but the ones that stand out are Magna and Basmati. We also liked Spice and Chez Isabelle. Efrain was our waiter at Basmati and he gave great recommendations on what to order and even brought us sample sizes of several appetizers so we could try them. Noemi (who I assume was the manager) came to our table several times to make sure everything was great. Feliciano was our excellent waiter two times at Magna and made our visits extra special. We also got great service from Remi at Spice and Jonny at Chez Isabelle. We love the nightly entertainment particularly Claudia Trevino. Compared to other resorts, we think the entertainment at EPM is the best. Our room is always impeccably cleaned and is well stocked with whatever drinks we want. More on that later. Cons - I don't know what EPM can do about this but if you weren't out at the beach by 5:45, you weren't getting a Bali bed. Definitely could use more of them. Maybe get rid of the outdoor massage area which is never used. Our bar service on the beach was the worst we've ever had. There was one waiter for our entire section which was not enough although our waiter was particularly bad. Most times, our drinks didn't come for 30-45 minutes after we ordered them, three times he forgot our order completely, and several times brought the wrong drinks. Once, we asked for a drink at 4:45 and he told us he thought the bar might be closed already. We told him they closed at 5:00. I started going to the Excellence Club pool bar to order directly and discovered they were a big part of the problem. Every drink I ordered from Jorge at Cielo was messed up. So, I finally started going to the non-Excellence bars where I got much better service but not what I paid for. The best staff should be used on the Excellence side because we are paying extra for that service. We did get excellent service from our concierges Keila, and Elizabeth. Our room was great but there were a couple of things that weren't up to par. Our first day, our room wasn't cleaned until after 6:30. When we mentioned that to Elizabeth, she said she would m

AMAZING time was had by all the couples in our group. My husband and I have travelled to many resorts in Mexico and this resort is now at the top of our list! The food and drinks were the best we have had at any all-inclusive, the facilities & activities were excellent, the music and shows were fantastic and the staff provided great service at every turn. Kudos go out to the energetic and caring activity staff members, Salvatore and Naomi, to Antonio (The Lobster house) and Luis (Las Olas) for great service in the restaurants and Caesar (lobby Martini bar) and Oscar (Las Olas beach bar) for their creative cocktails that always hit the spot. Thank you all, we will be back!

Loved the activities available. Didn’t like how the bathroom mirrors were a little too tall and the AC was a little weird. But, nothing crazy.

We returned to XPM for the 17th time April 8-18 for ten nights. We upgraded to Excellence Club as we have for every stay in the past. On this trip, we noticed improvements in the quality of the food, the overall service and housekeeping which by the way was excellent! But one main reason we keep returning is because of the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to ensure that the guests are taken care of and this time was no exception. Although some of the old familiar staff members have left, we quickly made new friends who were just as pleasant and helpful while making our vacation so enjoyable. The following staff members deserve recognition: CLUB BEACH AREA - Sully, Keila, Josue, Alexandro, Victor & Cesar the concierges and Yessi, Gustavo & Rubi the servers. A SPECIAL MENTION - Vilma Montalvo (F&B Guest Services) and Jacqueline Zacarias (Guest Services Mgr) who made sure our stay was perfect! One last thing since Sasa told us to let him know if there was anything that we needed. Since we have always booked the Excellence Club for all our visits we have enjoyed the club lounge. However, since Magna opened and the club moved to the main building on the 3rd floor the club has become primarily a restaurant with a bar. It no longer is a lounge unless you consider two tables with four seats each near the restrooms a lounge. The center area with the sofas is really in the restaurant area. We personally miss the casual lounge atmosphere where snacks were served all day and night and happy hour crowds would meet coming from the beach and pools or for a pre-dinner cocktail with much laughter and friendship. Now since the cigar bar closed (which originally was the old club), perhaps this would be an opportunity to reopen as the Excellence Club Lounge.

This was our first time at the Excellence Playa Mujeres Resort and we had a great time! The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The restaurants were excellent and the service was great. Our top three favorites were The Grill (steak was amazing), Oregano and Magna. We spent every day on the beach and had a great waiter (Gustavo) and consier (Sully). Both were very attentive and fun individuals. They always greeted us with a smile and asked if they could do anything to make our stay more enjoyable. We highly recommend this place and plan on returning in the near future!
