The scenery was beautiful, love the ocean. The food was somewhat bland, pick something you like and stick to it.

The beach and pools were very nice. The food was good. This seemed like a good family resort. I will probably go to an adults only next time. It would have been nice to have an adults only area. We wanted to have a few drinks at nights, but lots of people brought their kids to bar area.

Very disappointed in Riu's customer service andcall center. As a Riu Class Member I scheduled transportation from the airport to the Riu Palace Costa Mujeres for my family this coming week. My son's flight to Cancun was canceled but I was able to get him on another flight arriving 3 hours later. When I called to notify the transportation company, Destination Services, they said they couldn't accomodate the change unless Riu ok'd the change. When I contacted Riu's call center the agent was very rude and told they would not honor any changes within 3 days. Given that flights are often delayed these days their policy is terrible and is going to cost me a quite a bit extra to arrange alternative transportation. Very disappointing that Riu couldnt take the time to call the service to make the change.

RIU no falla. Los puntos fuertes del hotel son la playa, la gastronomía y la atención del personal. La playa es prácticamente privada, sumamente tranquila y donde no hay vendedores ambulantes (a excepción de los fotógrafos y algunos vendedores de excursiones). No tiene bar de playa, pero los mozos están atentos todo el día para brindar bebidas. Lo bueno también es que alcanzan sin problema las reposeras, ya que no sucede como en otros hoteles donde la gente las deja reservas o el mismo personal del hotel las reserva por propinas. Y, como había leído, esta zona esta bastante libre de sargazo, habiendo días donde el mar y la playa estaban prácticamente limpios. La gastronomía es excelente. En el buffet hay 4/5 islas de comida caliente. No hay noche del chef o temática, pero queda compensado con la variedad y calidad de las opciones. Los restaurantes temáticos son altamente recomendables: excelentes el Japonés y el Krystal de comida fusión; el único flojo es el Italiano. Y destaco la atención del personal, desde la recepción, los mozos, hasta el equipo de animación. Atentos y siempre bien predispuestos. BONUS TRACK: Si vas con chicos, el Parque Acuático. Muy bueno. Tiene una parte para más chicos, y un sector para niños y adultos de más de 1,25 metros de altura. A mejorar: disponibilidad en los restaurantes temáticos. Si bien no hace falta reserva, los mismos abren de 18 a 21:30. Si uno llega temprano, pasa directamente. Si no te dan un pager/viper. Pero hay que ir temprano, porque si vas después de las 20 ya no cuentan con disponibilidad. Habitaciones: modernas, amplias, cómodas. Solamente a tener un cuenta, tienen la bañera fuera del baño y la ducha es esmerilada porque lo que se ve la silueta de quien se está bañando. Fui en familia y era incómodo, había que apagar la luz y tratar de estar lejos del vidrio para que no se vea nada. Ubicación: Si bien lo bueno de esta zona es la playa, queda un poco lejos de Cancún. Por ejemplo, está a 30 km del shopping La Isla. Los taxis del hotel son muy caros, hay que buscar traslados privados externos o bien Uber. De volver a Costa Mujeres, repetiría sin lugar a dudas.

Beautiful property with plenty of food choices. Beach is nice. We were not able to get into the water the entire week due to strong wind and wave except for one day which was disappointing. But overall we had a great time. If you are looking for lots of things to do, then this resort might not be a good fit as it is relatively quiet around the neighborhood.

Loved the resort! Food was great drinks were awesome! There were lots of events for the family. My two daughters 10 and 12 enjoyed it a lot. Beach was very clean.
