A very characterful country cottage belonging to a hideaway off the tourist circuit. Able to experience the authentic British rural living environment, a self-driving round-the-island in-depth tour is suitable

What a lovely seaside location - peaceful, quiet - the perfect place to relax along the water. Rooms have old world charm - the restaurant serves delicious meals and the bar is a casual way to end the day. All the staff are friendly and personable - everyone seems to enjoy what they do and they do it well.

So many of the restaurants on Isle of Skye are overrated and overpriced. Not so the Eilean Larmain. Food is delicously simple and not overhyped. We had grilled Lagoustines fresh from the sea and battered monk fish with chips so buttery and delicately fried that it literally melted in your mouth. Service was cheery and efficient the manager even gave us a complimentary ride back to our hotel after dinner. The view from the restaurant and hotel grounds is incomparable. A true taste of Skye for those seeking an unfussy and authentic dining experience.

We so enjoyed our four nights at the Hotel Eilean Larmain! Our room was lovely, the property itself exceed our expectations and Mary in the breakfast room was just a delight to engage with every morning. She could not have made us feel more welcome and accommodated our every need. So many wonderful memories of our stay!!

Enjoyed our visit to the pub and breakfast at the hotel . Service in the pub was excellent. Ashley the young lass with long blond hair in plats was a joy. Professional and kind and a huge smile. She couldn’t do enough for my husband and myself. Again at breakfast she efficient and approachable. Full marks young lady 🤩

The pictures don't do this place justice. Absolutely beautiful place to stay and staff was great! They had great food, views and soaking tubs. If you are on the Isle of Skye, this is where you want to stay. They had comfortable beds and a great menu selection. Even has a bar!

Nous avons testé 4 petits hôtels lors de notre road trip en Ecosse et l’Eilean Iarmain est sans contexte celui que nous avons préféré. On est déjà sous le charme à l’arrivée, devant l’environnement (au bord de l’eau), et la jolie architecture de l’hôtel. Nous avions une suite familiale et là encore, petit effet wahou à la découverte du duplex (vu sur le loch), décoré avec beaucoup de goût et très confortable. Nous avons également testé le resto, rien à dire, malgré nos a priori de français face à la gastronomie britannique, force est de reconnaître que nous avons très bien mangé (nos ados également!). Pour finir, un mot également sur l’équipe très accueillante et chaleureuse, mention spécial pour notre petite serveuse Emily, très pro et sympathique (bon courage pour son apprentissage du français!). Nous recommandons chaudement l’adresse et espérons avoir l’occasion d’y revenir un jour!
