There's a Russian speaker at the reception, which makes things a lot easier. You can ask for more at breakfast and they won't refuse you. Overall, the hotel is excellent for the money and the bed is very soft.

We stayed for two nights. Initially, they put us on the 4th floor. Although we had two suitcases and the hotel did not have an elevator. And the cleaning lady saw us and asked why we did not check in on the 2nd floor, because there were also free rooms there. In the end, they told us that there were no other rooms. The room itself is very small, there was a balcony (very dirty), it was difficult to open. The room was also dirty. There was a sticky orange stain on the coffee table (I don’t know from what), a wardrobe with dirt on the bottom shelf, and there were also stains in the chests of drawers from something unknown. There were orange stains on the sheets. We also took accommodation with breakfast, and I do not recommend it. Very poor and the olives were clearly not very fresh, we did not go on the second day. Also, the rooms did not have any amenities such as a kettle, glasses, etc. The advantages of the hotel are its location and a pleasant price. I think that's all. Wi-Fi in the room worked every other time.

We stayed four nights in September 2025. There are very few reviews for Ostrovok, so I'll add my own. The hotel is truly terrible. We tried everything we could to cheer ourselves up, but there are almost no positives. Location: be prepared, although it's in the old town and supposedly near the metro, the area is poor and dirty. Overall, it's not a big deal; Sultanahmet is a 30-minute walk away. However, there are shops all around, and it's noisy. The area beneath the windows seems to be an unloading point, with cars constantly parking. It's generally noisy: seagulls screaming, people arguing, smoking, and people unloading goods. The bathroom is small, with nowhere to put shampoo, etc. This turned out to be critical because you're standing there wondering whether to hold it in your hands or put it on the floor. The sink is tiny, and you're used to it being placed on it, but there really isn't any room; everything will end up on the floor. And the sides themselves are at an angle, so everything slides off. The room was okay for a hotel of this size, the bed was ok. But there was only one closet and an ottoman, so our things were always either in our suitcase or on the ottoman, which doubled as a table, chair, and closet. Food: Breakfast was in a windowless basement, so don't expect any views. At our first breakfast, we discovered... that the buffet they were advertising in the photo wasn't available. We were confused. We realized we were the only ones in the hotel and they simply hadn't set up the food. They brought out on a plate: 2 pieces of watermelon, bread, margarine, jam, some terrible stale sausage, some terrible cheese, 3 olives (one with mold), a lettuce leaf, a boiled egg, and a piece of biscuit. We were even more confused. The only food we could eat was the watermelon, the boiled egg, and the bread. Then they brought out one scrambled egg for two. The following breakfasts were the same, we asked for at least two scrambled eggs. The staff were Indian, and their English was poor. They offer no service, just lazily wandering around the hotel, which has no guests. There was only one manager who spoke Russian, Salim, and he was the only ray of light, as we could clarify everything. One day, the power went out, and they said it would be fixed in 10 minutes, but of course they didn't. You know, I always thought that a hotel couldn't ruin a trip, like you can only sleep there, but in this case, don't ruin your trip with this hotel.
