A hotel that was a complete surprise. It is 20 minutes' drive from the airport. It is in the woods and the surrounding is very quiet. On the night of check-in, I saw the aurora covering the entire sky. The hotel dinner is not bad, there is raw venison, you can try it if you dare, I have eaten it anyway😅I must go to the sauna, choose the glass room sauna, 50 euros per person, enjoy the snow while sauna, very comfortable! The hotel itself also has some snow sports, such as husky sledding and horse-drawn sledding. All in all, I am very satisfied!

Phenomenal. We absolutely loved it! What a unique experience, one we will always remember. Staying in Ivalo instead of the more touristy Rovaniemi is one of the best decisions we made on our trip, and we’re so glad we chose Aurora! The property is gorgeous, with great access to views and nature trails. The cabins are beautiful, everything perfectly clean, our bed was very comfortable, and of course the ability to sleep under the stars (and northern lights) is amazing. The staff was wonderful — very warm and accommodating, organized and professional, nimble to change plans when the weather wasn’t cooperating. Special shout out to our snowmobiling guide Marcus, who was so friendly and great at explaining the science of the northern lights! And the food — we loved it! Our compliments to the chefs. They were very accommodating to our dietary needs, and we especially loved the generous breakfast buffet. My advice to guests is to stay for at least three nights (but we easily would have enjoyed 4-5) because that improves your chances of seeing the northern lights, and there are SO many activities to keep you busy. I also recommend booking your activities early (like: months in advance) if you are visiting during high winter season, so you have flexibility to design your preferred itinerary. Our only (tiny) suggestion for the hotel is to consider adding reading lights on the beds. But truly, this is such a special place and we would recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely amazing in every aspect, Amazing cabins, efficient service, friendly and helpful staff, everything was so well organised in every regard; trips, excursions, check-in, enquiries, services and everyone was so helpful. Clean, comfortable and brilliant from arrival to departure. Evening dinners were magnificent too. Don’t hesitate to stay here, it’s superb.

We did not stay at the hotel, but booked their wood fired sauna experience via the website. The cost was very reasonable and we walked about 40 mins to the resort from Ivalo. The sauna was our best Finnish experience and i would recommend to anyone wanting to give it a try. They provide towels, firewood and the water is down a few steps from the sauna door. The area is pristine and very clean. After the sauna and ice swim, we visited the hotel restaurant and bar area for hot drinks and a snack. The staff were very friendly and the facilities available to guests and visitors were great and welcoming. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back......

We only came for the reindeer feeding but this was a real highlight of the trip. We could have done it every day! 15-20min with the animals was fantastic The rest of the resort however looked lovely and they seemed to offer a great range of activities.

Wonderful cabins with glass ceilings and excellent restaurant. Stayed for 3 nights during our trip to Ivalo and enjoyed the coziness and comfort of our cabin, while also enjoying the experience of the Finnish sauna! The food and service at the restaurant was top quality, where traditional flavors were combined with modern touches achieving an authentic and amazing taste. We were fortunate to witness the Northern lights, though not from inside our cabin. Wonderful experience and beautiful location.

Incredibly charming hotel! Super clean and cozy cabin; comfy bed; wonderful forest view; refreshing shower; convenient kitchen corner with a small fridge and a tea/coffee maker. I enjoyed my morning coffee in bed very much! We really liked the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant; its delicious food with a lot of local specialities. The Northern Lights were absolutely stunning!! A truly unforgettable experience in many ways! Huge thank you to the hotel staff for their help and hospitality!

We love this place so much that I think a written review or photos would not do it justice. Better for you to come and experience it yourself. Hope to visit them again on the next solar maximum! PROS: - Seamless transfers with the airport and bus station - Lots of available activities that can be arranged with the hotel, but we also enjoyed having lots of free time to explore the nearby wilderness which was lovely in autumn -Auroras were visible in 2 out of 4 nights of our stay, we booked the aurora guarantee package which includes the aurora alert app which notifies you if there are auroras visible and how intense are they, just make sure to permit the app to make notifications and your phone is not in silent mode. - Food was scrumptious! Our package includes a daily buffet breakfast and a three course dinner which we all loved! For lunch, the system here is you could order a main dish (a variety of soup, fries, or toasted sandwiches) and with it comes access to the salad bar. We particularly liked the tomato and lentil soup for lunch which was a perfect balance of tart and creamy, with a mild hint of spice, perfect for the chilly Lapland weather. For non-alcoholic beverage drinkers, we also loved the cranberry mocktail and had it for most of our dinners. -Room was warm and cozy with a nice view of the sky and wilderness. Bathroom was very clean with heated floors. Hot water is limited so once you have exceeded a 100 liters (which is more than enough for 2 occupants) you have to wait for 30 minutes for the boiler to heat the water. -Great internet connectivity and speed even within the cabins. -All staff were efficient, nice and friendly, always making sure that we were fine. -Very handy online check-out CONS: -Pack light as your cabin might be quite far from the reception, and have to carry your luggage there. (Cabins pretty close to reception are 1, 3, and 28) -We felt so at home that we no longer wanted to leave.

This was a beautiful resort, the staff were lovely but was desperately in need of trollies to get your luggage from reception to your cabin. Lugging them for long distances over very rough ground was untenable for many of the guests, including us.

This hotel has many advantages, such as good location (including excellent auroras), clean cottages, good food and excellent service (above all in the restaurant) What bothered us were 2 things: - we came from Helsinki by plane (only flight that day) and arrived in hotel at 11.30pm (together with 5 other guests. Taxi driver that was sent to pick up was grumpy up to unpleasant. Upon arrival and check in we had to drag our suitcases in the absolute dark (and we snow on road) to the other side of resort. No light and no support - everything needs to be paid extra, even the resort it's own aurora app, sauna and jacuzzi . Activities are expressive (we took the aurora hunting toy which was fun). Second and third day we rented a car (costing 80 euros per day for a Skoda Octavia fully insured) and did the trips ourselves (hiking, Sami museum in Inari, etc). Hope hotel management will tackle both above issues
