Aurora Kakadu Lodge

Location and room are whatever, you don't really have a choice around these parts. My biggest problem was with the food / restaurant in the middle. There is no fly protection at all and the staff don't even seem to care. I ordered my food, sat on the outside table then after a few minutes went to the bar to get a drink. The lady brought my food to where I was sitting, left it on the table, and when I get back, the whole thing is covered with flys. Gross They have no nets or anything they put over food, they have no mesh covered area where you can eat without being bothered by flys. I understand flys are a natural part of the outback, but leaving food sitting on a table to get covered in flys (not just a couple, easily 50+ flys) doesn't sit right with me. Just get some mesh or something to cover it...... Highly recommend just getting the food in a takeaway container and just eating in your room.....

Great park with good facilities however some infrastructure is getting pretty old & worn and in average condition. While I can see that they are investing in new cabins etc it seems the existing cabins are left in disrepair. In particular the amenities block I used, some shower head gave barely more than a trickle of water while others were okay. (so not a water pressure issue). This along with the price charged makes it hard to find value for the room I had.

Great new clean accommodation, nice bathroom, big towels. Small kitchenette was perfect. Good selection of cutlery, crockery, glasses. Small cabin but felt roomy inside, with a small seating area both inside and outside. Great location for both Jabiru and for Aurora's pool and restaurant.

Very good location, close to town centre. The pool is next to the bar and bistro so you can enjoy a drink while splashing. I would love to have white coloured towels instead of milky colour like theirs. Other than that this place is great to stay.

Great location for visiting Darwin. Roomy rooms, great food options and very friendly and efficient staff. Cat parking a bonus at no cost

The highlight was the large, shaded swimming pool and the restaurant serving excellent food at economical prices. Communal bathrooms were close by and worked well

It was a fantastic place to get away. The staff informed us about what was happening in the area.

A good place to stay and has everything you need. Cabins could do with a revamp

The cabin was quite basic but very clean and the air con was on which was a relief. We didn’t make use of the facilities other than a barbecue which was close by the cabin. The park looked well maintained, clean and tidy.
