Four bedrooms in this beautiful home. There is a very beautiful pool and the food is out of this world. It is more of a showroom type home than Hotel. It is extremely quiet and it is more or less sold out in the summer, but I am so lucky to have stayed here.

Staying at Mahesa Bhawan is more like staying at a family member’s or close friend’s home, such is the genuinely warm and welcoming service provided by Juckshan and Janata with delectable food expertly prepared by Merkela, all under the watchful but no less welcoming eye of Nilanthi the GM.

With only 4 rooms, this refurbished villa is like staying in a friends house. The wonderful staff looked after us so well and as the food was so good, we ate here 3 of our four nights as well as lunch on a number of days too. Lovely clean spacious rooms with good air conditioning and a very comfortable bed. Good size pool with pool towels provided. We couldn’t have asked for anything more with a special mention to our Butler Janaka. If you want to get away from the big hotels, then this place is highly recommended.

A wonderful place to stay. I had the Monkey room - mosquito netting around the bed which of course was useful, but also very attractive. The room was a nice size, good closet, nice bathroom. The pool was a good size and the lounging furniture was attractive and comfortable. The best part was the staff - such nice helpful people. Also, the food was excellent - a treat to have dinner here. I wish I could have stayed an extra night.

Stayed at Jetwing Mahesa Bhawan on my first ever visit to the magnificent city of Jaffna this month & let me say that this has truly been one of the most exceptional experiences I’ve had in Sri Lanka! Located in the heart of the city down a tranquil neighbourhood, this colonial gem was nothing short of a masterpiece in terms of its architectural style & interior design. Added to that was the most wonderful staff led by Mr Juckshan & Miss Nilanthi with their tireless efforts in making sure that our stay was comfortable from the moment we arrived at Jaffna. Special thanks to Megala for your exceptional food & Janaka for your service - you two truly are an important part in making Mahesa Bhawan the unforgettable experience that it was to myself as well as my family. My husband, sister and I spent 3 wonderful nights at the lovely Mahesa Bhavan villa. We love to stay at properties such as this, restored old houses turned into special places to stay, efficient, wonderful staff who throughly spoil us with kindness, delicious food and drinks and efficient care. Juckshan, Janaka and Megala and the other staff went way beyond what we expected to ensure that our return to Jaffna went so well. The delicious Jaffna style food, vadais, Jaffna Kool soup, pittu, mouth watering dishes to bring back long buried memories of a young life spent here. Very comfortable beds, dinner with other guests around the table I could list many other special moments. Thank you SO much for looking after us so well, we hope to be back and have warmly recommended you to many others. Thank you very much from Jennifer & Juris.

Small hotel in a very nice historical building in Jaffna. Clean, nice swimming pool, nice staff and very tasteful food. What’s more fun to have diner with some other guest in a cosy dinning room! The rooms are also very nicely decorated! Worth another visit!

Nous avons logé dans la chambre Flamingo, qui est la mieux ; plus grande, avec une très jolie salle de bain, un balcon avec fauteuils. La villa est très belle, très bien rénovée et entretenue, avec de nombreux objets anciens. Le personnel est très prévenant notamment son manager. Dîner et petits déjeuners excellents. Ils ont su nous faire la cuisine sans épices ! Une adresse à retenir !

A wonderful property in the heart of Jaffna with easy access to key attractions. The period property has been tastefully renovated with the addition of a pool. You will experience a traditional northern welcome! The staff led by Juckshan are exceptional and present exceptional northern cuisine. A tranquil pool, set within the privacy of the bungalow is a welcome break from the heat.
