We just got home from what was expected to be a two night stay to have fun at the ohio bigfoot conference. Our experience was anything but! We arrived at 4:00...check in time. Went thru the line that was 10 deep...sorry room not ready, check back later! Had to go thru this same process/line 3 more times before we got our room. Air conditioning thruout most of the common area was not working so it was extremely hot! But the worst thing was our wing of rooms which has just one elevator...was out of order! Never once were we informed of this! Have been here many times before so we KNEW there was an elevator that we were counting on. My wife has very bad knees and is not able to do steps. We spent all evening trying to navigate this problem. The next morning my wife woke up in so much pain she was almost crying! We decided we would have to leave. We informed them at the front desk of this decision. They said we are sorry but you will still be charged for both nights stay even tho you only stayed one. Company policy! I have contacted corporate and am awaiting a response at this time. I will update once one is recieved. They are redoing this lodge but advertised as only mild inconvenience to guests. Wrong! All I can say about staying here is do your research BEFORE booking!

I travel quite frequently for work and have driven past the Salt Fork signs multiple times on interstate 77. This time, it was getting late and I needed to get some work done before calling it a night, so I decided to reserve a room at the lodge. Upon arrival (the lodge was packed), I was told that the room I had booked created an overbooking. At this point, I was ready to give up and get back on the road; however, the situation was handled perfectly and I was given a complimentary upgraded to a chalet cabin. It was cold for March in Ohio, which made the hot tub and fireplace that much better - I didn't getting any work done. Long story short, I will definitely be returning with the family when we have time to explore.

Our children got an early spring break, so we decided to spend the weekend in a lakeside-chalet cabin - what a great choice! One has to remember you're in a state park, so we weren't expecting glitz and glamour, but the cabin was clean and everything was well appointed (children absolutely loved the hot tub). Hoping to come back when we're able to stay longer and would absolutely recommend the cabins to anyone who loves nature or just wants to getaway and relax.

Lakeside Cabin chalet #27 was HORRIBLE! Nothing modern or chalet like about it. I looked online at the video walk through and the chalet looked nice. Well, not #27! It looked like it had been damaged in a flood. Carpet pulling up and filthy, walls and paint chipped and dinged everywhere. No curtain valences over the blinds just holes in the wall where they once were and the blinds were dirty and falling apart. The heat/air vents have mold around them. Ceiling cracked and looked poorly repaired. Mold on the baseboard and walls outside the shower. Shower door did not fit right. The doors to the rooms were broken and ill fitting. The hot tub quit working on our 2nd day. Ants showed up in the kitchen and we were not even cooking there! We had to call maintenance the first night to get the fireplace on. Loose pieces of plastic pipes outside on the hill so obviously water issues here. This cabin looked like something had seriously damaged about everything in it. Will not stay in a cabin here ever again. So disappointed I was really looking forward to a romantic weekend away. The lake view was really pretty. The lodge looked ok and the bar was nice.

Only had the opportunity to stay for one night, so I took advantage of the early check in and late check out enhancements to to make the most of this short trip. *Tip* - one night isn't nearly enough to explore all this park has to offer. Arrived to a welcoming smile from the gal at the front desk and entered a well-appointed and clean room, overlooking a picturesque lake. Was able to hike four trails during my visit and would definitely suggest anyone visiting the park checks out Hosak's Cave and the Stonehouse trail. Looking forward to coming back when I'm able to spend more time!

We were celebrating a big birthday and came here mainly for the golf. We arrived 90 minutes early and our room was not ready and they literally told us to come back at 4. They didn’t offer us to stay and visit the restaurants or have a drink. It was come back at 4. Our room was ready but not really clean. We ordered a celebration package that should have been in our room upon arrival. We had to call and then wait over 2 hours for it. What we got was cheese cubes soaked in orange juice. The seasonal fruit for ohio in late September apparently is oranges. They sliced one orange and then then plastic wrapped it so tight that all the juice from the orange soaked the cheese. The cost for this was $75.00. We couldn’t even eat it. When we told the night manager about it she gave us a breakfast coupon and told us we would hear from the day manager. Well we never heard a thing. Also they make you pay in full upon arrival. Our first trip to an Ohio state park resort. Never again.

Took the kids here for one last hurrah before school starts. Stayed in a lakeside cabin with a hot tub and excellent view of the lake. Kids enjoyed the outdoor pool at the lodge throughout the day and campfires in the evening. Place looked sold out and probably was understaffed but everyone we encountered was friendly, hustling and attentive to our needs.

We visited the lodge this past weekend for our first family trip. Our room was nice but the bathroom could use an update. The bed was very comfortable. We ate at the lodge restaurant Saturday night and were very disappointed by how under staffed they were. The table next to us sat there for 30-45 minutes before their order was taken. When we went to the front desk to see other options they said sorry we have a conference and 3 family reunions this weekend and were not much help. We ended up finally getting our dinner at 9pm. Sadly we will probably not return to stay here.

We had a great family trip at the lodge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. We enjoyed the outdoor pool, mini golf and pizza. Great way to spend a summer weekend.
