Madison Hotel (Jiuzhaigou Scenic Spot)

Location: The hotel is situated in the heart of Pengfeng Village's commercial street. It's not too far, nor too close, to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. All Seasons Hotel is about 200-300 meters closer, which probably explains why their room rates are higher than Meilun. Room Amenities: The rooms have floor heating, which adds to the comfort. Overall, the hotel is clean and well-maintained, and the fragrant atmosphere is also well-managed. Each room has a scented humidifier, and even the elevators had air fresheners (though they seemed a bit out of place, as if temporarily put there). However, the bedsheets consistently had debris, and I had to brush them off myself for both nights, which made it hard to sleep peacefully. Also, the shower water temperature kept fluctuating; it wasn't constant, despite using TOTO bathroom fixtures. The rooms aren't huge but are perfectly adequate. Most guests here stay in Pengfeng Village because Jiuzhaigou tickets are only valid for one day. They typically check in on the first day to rest up and then aim to catch the first bus into the scenic area the next morning. Consequently, the streets are pretty deserted after dinner time. (The front desk seemed a bit surprised when we mentioned wanting to extend our stay for another night!)

The hotel is right near the scenic area, so you can walk to the entrance in about ten minutes first thing in the morning, which helps you avoid heavy traffic. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, making it my top choice for visiting Jiuzhaigou.

The location is very convenient and the service is good, but the facilities are really outdated! The deadbolt on the triple room door was broken, and the TV had a loose connection – clearly issues that haven't been fixed for a while, making guests just 'make do.' The overall decor feels like it's from ten years ago, which doesn't match the hotel's price point.
