The staff at this hotel are wonderfully friendly, always happy to help. During my stay there, I did not even realize that there electricity blackout in Johannesburg everyday.
The restaurant bar downstairs has a good range of food at a reasonable price with very friendly crews. It gets busy and noisy there during the weekend with a DJ playing good music. That gives a good and convenient option to chill without going to places that may not be safe. However, if loud music is not your thing, just ask during check-in for quiet rooms. The receptionist did get me one of those quiet rooms. I will totally go back there any time I visit Johannesburg and has business to do in Braamfontein.

The reception and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast is also great considering that it is part of the accomodation costs. This is a no frills hotel in the middle of a very vibrant part of the city. The noise levels are high during the night due to the surrounding area. Very close to the hop on hop off bus stop. If you are a tourist, you could consider this. I loved my stay at the Bannister.

I stayed in a hotel for 10 days. During my stay, there was a wifi cut-off which happened without prior notification to clients. This caused a lot of inconveniences as I booked the hotel to attend classes at Wits University, therefore, I was depending entirely on the wifi to do my schoolwork. This means that on the two days, I failed to do my school work properly.

There is a lot of noise, the parking was terrible after parking our car we had to walk in a dark alley and the security who opened the gate for us was very annoyed when we asked questions. Our room had a terrible smell and opening the windows didn't help.

The rooms are very small and they are not value for money, there were cockroaches running around at night, the room has no air conditioning so it was very hot, the shower curtains are short so after bathing water was running from the bathroom to the room. The place is noisy and overall experience was terrible.

Overall good staff, friendly and helpful. Being a weekend stay, we could not sleep well due to the local weekend celebration. Would request for electric kettle in the room for preparation of tea or coffee.

Perfect reception indeed, respect and privacy for guests, and room service excellent. Though deep in city center and has a nightclub, the hotel security is best. This includes car safety with a basement packing which is on CCTV surveillance and a locked gate

I had an awesome stay at the Bannister Hotel, the staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious as well coupled with impeccable service. Also, I enjoyed the entertainment provided.

Average hotel. I slept really well so the beds are you excellent. The problem is at night there is music outside and it's so loud and annoying. The breakfast is really good even if there are not a lot of options.
