Hotels with Bars in Jonesboro

I was a last minute booker for a football tournament. The staff is friendly, efficient and fast. I called the morning of and spoke with the sweetest lady, Sarah. She was able to book my room, search for discounts and answer questions in less than a 10 minute phone call. I was going to be late checking in so when I called back to give them a heads up, Janeen assured me it was no problem and had me ready to check in as soon as I got there. The hotel itself is exceptionally clean. There wasn’t a speck of dust to be found or even so much as a streak on the bathroom mirror. I was a little nervous being booked right next to the stairwell, but I never heard a thing. The bed was clean and comfy and I enjoyed my stay very much.

Attempts to spruce up this old property largely failed. Lobby and breakfast area are nice, hallways and elevator yucky, our room was half & half. Beds were comfy, good pillows & new towels but walls needed paint and corners hadn't seen a vacuum or mop for a LONG time. Staff was helpful but overworked...the desk attendant was next door with a plunger. Maid staff was very friendly and everyone wished us ”safe travels”. Breakfast ok.

The room was clean and staff was pleasant. Continental breakfast was advertised online and was confirmed at the front desk upon arrival. There was only coffee available in the morning. The beds have those stupid small sqaure pillows.

Booked several weeks in advance and we are an IHG member. The staff at the counter were lacking simple skills. At the onset, I was told that I probably was supposed to be at the Hilton because they couldn't find the reservation. When I showed them my email, they were still confused about it. After they figured it out, we went to our room before dinner. We noticed that the door was not functioning correctly and that all you had to do was push it open. Asking to be moved should be easy right? The girl at the front said she could not look up what kind of room I had to move me to a comparable one. Let me say that again, she did not have a clue what was the bed accommodations in our room. Logic tells me that if I work there and room #xxx is messed up, you should be able to figure it out. The room was fine once we moved and we had a good night's sleep. The storm hit late the following day and we were forced to stay in Jonesboro again. We went back but a mistake happened again. My credit card was rung up for the wrong total (undercharged) and then the next morning was done again (balance). Would I stay here again? Holiday Inn is normally a great stay anywhere but this location needs to get straight. The desk seemed like they had no idea how to do the job and acted like the unsecured door would not be an issue. They said we would be safe at the location. I do not pay for a broken door on the whim that I should be safe. The manager needs to get people trained before placing them on their own.

Very clean roomy and quiet

While on a road trip back home to Georgia, my fiancé and I stopped here for the night. The room was fine, the bed comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, and there are plenty of restaurants within a quick drive from the hotel. That’s the only good things about this stay. The next morning, a guest on the property started banging on my room door at approximately 6:30 AM, asking me if “I had heard the sounds coming through the walls.” I told this person I had no idea what he was taking about, closed my door, called the front desk, and called the Jonesboro Police, who responded quickly. (The photo attached is the responding officers cars.) The officers found the offending guest, interviewed him for a good fifteen minutes, and then advised me that this person had mental health issues, and was possibly coming off of a “drug high.” I asked the desk clerk for a full refund; she said she was unable to process the refund, but would have the manager call me later on that morning. (The manager did not call me.) A call to the Choice Hotels corporate offices has resulted in the same issue; no one from corporate has contacted me. If it is possible, I would advise staying somewhere else; between the issue with the guest and the lackadaisical attitude of the manager not calling me back after this incident would preclude me from ever staying here again.
