Terribly mismanaged property. First of all, the very first night we got there electricity kept going out and continued to go out through our stay. We couldn’t enjoy the restaurant or the bar in the complete darkness aside from one lamp and a few dim electric candles. Secondly, they had no rice and beans or tequila, which is amazing for a Caribbean resort. and We then proceeded to get our room and we were placed right next to a trash dump with an old, disgusting looking boat blocking our view. Our master bedroom had no privacy as the sliding door doesn’t go all the way up to the ceiling and the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and loud. Worst of all, the pool was murky and had dirt and debris in it. They just stuck a hose in there and then poured so many chemicals. All we could smell was chlorine, our eyes were burning. Furthermore, the tap-water and all the faucets in the shower was just saltwater from the lagoon. When we complained about it and asked to be moved, they said they cant move us even though there’s only three other people staying at the resort at the time with 8 empty units. After much arguing they offered to move us to a Lagoon unit, which is much smaller, but at least gave us some privacy and a view of the bay. However, when we came back from a day trip, they told us that the pools at our unit weren’t cleaned and we shouldn’t be using them which they told us of right before we got in. Another Shock! The AC in one of the bedrooms wasn’t working, and there was no water that we could drink. The water from the shower and this unit smelled even worse, as if having to wash yourself with salty water that smelled of chlorine wasn’t enough this water also smelled of sulfur. When we asked about that, they said that they’re working on their filtration system and our AC will be cleaned and fixed. None of that was done. They made it seem like this is something that just happened but if you speak with the locals, they’ll tell you, they’ve had these issues for a very long time and they just don’t take care of it. When we were finally ready to leave the resort, we got to the registration 30 minutes before the schedule departure, and we were presented with a surprise bill, charging us for a shuttle to secret beach that the lady that ran the resort recommended we take. Never once mentioning that there was a charge. It took a while to figure that out. In the meantime, the boat left from the back dock without us. We asked why and they said because the boat was full, but then I saw that there was only four passengers on the boat. I got angry I told him that they have to pick us up right away. The boat that we took the other day from San Pedro to Turtle Island had 16 people on it and by the way, it was 35 minutes late. The boat proceeded to pick us up and we realized why she was trying to get them to go without us. She hired a marketing company, and she wanted us to have nothing to tell them. Don’t be bamboozled. This is a really nice spot t
