The hotel might not strike you as amazing at first glance, but its classic charm and quality subtly reveal themselves over time. The luggage assistance upon check-in was a really thoughtful touch. Other services were pretty standard. I was particularly pleased with the room I was given this time; the balcony offered a direct view of the lighting ceremony!

Undoubtedly the best hotel in the scenic area. The hotel itself is stunning, and the suite we had was very spacious and well-designed. The common areas are perfect for photos, and there's an infinity pool on the top floor!

The room was nice and clean, and the front desk and doormen were incredibly helpful. The hotel's location is also excellent. As someone who's a bit of a clean freak, I found staying here very comfortable. Before booking, I thoroughly read all the negative reviews and none mentioned any hygiene issues, which put my mind at ease. The mini-bar was free and well-stocked. Suggestions for the scenic area: 1. Can the buggy rentals not have a two-hour minimum? Half-hour increments would be much more reasonable. 2. Could there be an internal food delivery service within the scenic area? There are many food options, and waiting in line during peak hours can be quite long.

Speechless front desk. The directions were unclear, and they weren't helpful when asked questions. It was scorching hot, and we had a 2-year-old with us. It took us an hour to find the hotel, despite the slightly larger parking lot.

It was really pricey because of the holiday, but the interior design totally made up for it; the ambiance is great. However, I have to point out two things: 1. This is the most expensive hotel in the whole scenic area, yet there's no dedicated parking. Finding a spot was a nightmare (it's best to contact the front desk beforehand and ask them to open the back gate). 2. They seem to be understaffed, and some employees' service attitude was just so-so (though the guy at the door when we checked out was very good). And the person who showed us to our room didn't offer to help with our luggage once – it was quite annoying 😑. 3. The carpet in the elevator looked a bit cheap and ruined the designer's consistent style. I hope they'll replace it.

The room was clean and tidy, with a great ambiance. The service was superb, attentive and thoughtful. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of choices. It would have been even better if the bed was 1.5 meters wide. I'll definitely book again next time! 👍👍👍

My overall experience at Hotel Metang exceeded my expectations. I chose this hotel primarily for its location within the park. It was very convenient: after parking at the North Gate, there was a shuttle bus from the visitor center directly to the hotel. Upon arrival, as soon as we got off the shuttle, the hotel staff were incredibly welcoming. They immediately helped us with our luggage, assisted with check-in, and promptly explained the park's attractions and how to plan our visit efficiently. Their service attitude and warmth genuinely made me feel a great sense of belonging. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated, creating a wonderful ambiance. Our room was on the second floor and was quite spacious. As a family room, it had a 2-meter king bed and a 1.2-meter single bed, easily accommodating four people. The room was very clean, and the facilities were new and complete. Despite the foot traffic downstairs, the soundproofing was excellent; we heard no noise at all. The hotel's surroundings are lovely, and both the daytime and nighttime atmospheres of the park are worth exploring. The park shows were all fantastic. Overall, I feel this trip to Chikan was absolutely worthwhile! 👍

I was torn between this hotel and another one called 'Jin Xu' before checking in, but ultimately chose this one, thinking that a comfortable stay would be better for a relaxing trip with friends. Here's my overall impression after a two-day, one-night stay: **Environment:** The environment is good. It's located right inside the park, making it convenient to get around and easy to return for a rest whenever needed. **Hygiene:** There were basically no hidden dirty spots, but the bathroom had a strange odor on the day we checked in, possibly from the drain. The hallway, however, always smelled pleasant. **Facilities:** The TV wasn't a smart TV, so we couldn't cast anything to it. The telephone had a retro design, which looked nice, but there was no information on how to dial the front desk. We had no idea how to request anything we needed 😂. The hotel itself is quite large, but the signage is unclear. After having lunch at the snack street on our check-in day, we re-entered the hotel and ended up in an unknown area, which was quite startling. There were absolutely no signs in the hallway pointing to the guest rooms or the front desk. **Restaurant:** We arrived at the hotel close to 1:30 PM, starving. The front desk mentioned that the hotel had a Chinese restaurant still open until 2:00 PM and advised us to go quickly. We rushed to our room, dropped off our luggage, and hurried to the restaurant. Upon entering, the restaurant's front desk told us to find a seat ourselves. We were confused and picked a table, just about to sit down, when a waiter came over and said the chef 👨🏻🍳 had already left and we couldn't order. For a hotel restaurant to advertise closing at 2:00 PM but actually stop taking orders before 1:40 PM is truly baffling to me. The buffet breakfast on the second day was, let's just say, hard to rate; it was edible but completely unappetizing. **Service:** The front desk and bellhop staff we encountered at checkout were excellent. They even helped us pack up the afternoon tea we missed due to time, which we greatly appreciated 🙏🏻. The staff at the restaurant entrance, however, I have nothing good to say about; they seemed dazed 🫨 and very sleepy. **Overall:** If I have the chance to visit Chikan again, I will most likely not choose this hotel.

Steeped in a Republic of China era ambiance, the decor is incredibly thoughtful and refined. The rooms are comfortable, the service is attentive, and the location is right in the heart of the scenic area. With shuttle buggies for getting in and out of the park, it's definitely the best choice within the scenic area.

Great service, clean rooms, and comfortable bedding. I especially liked the small sink in the separate toilet. It's excellent value for money, as the price includes breakfast for two, admission to the scenic area, the 'ding-ding' tram, VIP seating for the return performance, and free parking. The breakfast even has freshly made egg rice rolls.

The service was warm and friendly, and the decor was lovely. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, perfect for a family trip. The breakfast noodles were delicious, and while the selection wasn't huge, it was enough to fill you up. Overall, I was very satisfied.

Checked in on ***** New Year's Day. This is probably the best hotel in the ancient town, with a great location and excellent room amenities. The hotel staff generally provided very good service. If I visit the ancient town again, I would definitely consider staying at this hotel.

The hotel is right in the heart of the ancient town, exuding a strong民國 (Republic of China) era charm. The room rate includes admission to the ancient town, shuttle service, the 'dangdang' tram, and various performance tickets. The fire show was particularly stunning.

The Meitang Hotel is a truly unique hotel with an excellent location and warm, attentive service. The facilities are great, and the restaurant offers a wonderful ambiance and delicious food. It's perfectly suited for family trips and is definitely the top choice in Chikan Ancient Town.
