Villa Sethawadi Hotel and Kitesurf Centre

This hotel is an oasis. It's beautiful, the rooms are nice and big with a very confortable bed and have a terrace facing the lagoon. The food is amazing!!! and there is a kitesurf school right there with a boat that takes you to the beach in front of the hotel if you want. The service is Top Top! They are always available for requests in order to make you feel at home and hace a very special experience. Big thanks to Roshan! His incredible service, professionality and big heart made our stay memorable. Also thanks to Telan for his hospitality and friendliness and all the hotel crew. We will defenitely stay again here if we come back to Kalpitiya! Already missing this place!!

Absolutely amazing retreat ! This is a hidden gem. A beautiful place tucked away by the Lagoon. Superb for kitesurfing. Lovely accommodation right on the water. The staff are incredible and Matt and his team at the Kitesurf Centre are the best.

A lovely place to relax and on windy days (of which there are many) go wind or kite surfing. I tried wind surfing with Matt who was patient and knowledgable. The staff were delightful and the food delicious. They have an excellent chef, who is a cut above, although the food is quite rich, which may not be to everyone’s taste. We did have problems when we arrived - the road from the local town was almost impassable by car - tuk tuk would have been much better - and Google maps tooks us on the worse of the two roads in. Some of this was beyond their control as there had been heavy rain the day before but nevertheless more needs to be done to inform clients of the best way to arrive.

This place is a little paradise. The remote location, in between salt mines and the lagoon, surrounded by hundreds of palm trees is absolutely amazing. The chalet rooms and their outdoor bathrooms are gorgeous and very clean. As we were visiting in the off-season, the hotel was far from full. But this turned out to be the best thing ever: we had the azure pool for ourselves and the highly attentive, professional and polite staff fulfilled all our wishes and even more than that. All food leaving the chef’s kitchen is of a very high quality and simply delicious - try the curry crusted seabass. Last but not least, they have a stunning little rooftop bar at their kitesurfing center with views on the salt mines, the lagoon and the sea at the same time where they serve good cocktails. I recommend this amazing place more than every other hotel we visited on our 3-week tour. Simply amazing.

Fantastic place by the lagoon to calm down, clear the minde 💆🏊🧘🏻in harmony with nature or relaxe after kitesurfing or traveling around Sri Lanka. The villa very cozy, decor very tastefull. Amaizing food! Chef 5⭐️ Every dinner was like a little jorney in the world of taste and smell of Shri Lanka The best compliments for the staff as well. Very friedly, hearty and helpful 🤗 Worth to come back.

A warm welcoming upon arrival. But due to a misunderstanding we were unable to stay unfortunately. The manager, Sam, was very understanding and didn’t charge us. Kitesurfers you’ll love this place! Room with great airconditioning when it is very hot, outside terrace, lounge and pool looked inviting.

Villa Setha Wadi is directly overlooking the Lagoon. Very nice decor with good taste. Comfortable A/C rooms. Calm and quiet. Excellent food, great service. For Windsurfing and Wingfoiling, you can start right here ! I will certainly come back.

Situated on Kalpitiya lagoon. Water pressure insufficient in the showers. Beautiful interiors and good location. Hats off to the chef…excellent biriyani and seafood platters. Don’t forget to enjoy a drink in the lagoon hut situated in the lagoon…

Villa Setha Wadi has become our favorite place to stay in Kalpitya. The small resort and the rooms are carefully designed to retain some classic Sri Lankan style with all modern amenities. A very versatile cook creates wonderful meals. The situation directly on the lagoon is perfect for watersports and excursions. A nice pool overlooking the Lagoon allows for perfect relaxation.
