Best Hotels near Okamiishi, Kaminoyama

Stayed in June and December. It was very comfortable and the service was good. There is a welcome drink on the first floor and you can drink coffee and juice freely. I took it back to my room and drank it slowly. The main dish for dinner was sukiyaki. The baths are on the 1st and 8th floors, and the men's and women's baths are alternated. You can see the Zao mountain range from the hot spring on the 8th floor. If you make a reservation from the hotel's official website, you can stay at the cheapest price and receive a gift certificate that can be used at the shop for 500 yen per person.

A small upclass onsen ryokan situated near Zao onsen but a bit far away, you will easily missed the hotel entrance if not careful, the atmosphere is peaceful and you can hear the sound of nature (forest), quite a nice ryokan, but it would be better if they provide kettle in room instead of having to travel to the hotel lobby to obtain hot water.

I just about 5-7 minutes walk from the station. Is really a nice hotel. Looks very new and room size is good. I really like the restaurant downstairs. The beef is one of the best I ever have. Also discount for hotel guests. Same restaurant for breakfast.

From the Saito mokichi Memorial Hall to the ”Open-air Yu Arima Kan” which is today's inn. The lobby is large and clean and has a good atmosphere. There is also a store that can buy Yamagata specialty products. The guests can make a reservation at check-in because they can only use an open-air bath for free once. The atmosphere of the room is similar to the lobby, and there is a feeling of cleanliness without feeling old. This inn has a coffee maker and a capsule dedicated to Nespresso ”vivalt rugo” is a service. This is a pleasure. By the way, the country of this ”Vivalt rumgo” is Switzerland. The sweets in the room are ”no”. This is delicious. And the paper towel is thankful for this time. I even feel safe that there is a firm measure in this ”Arima Kan”. There is no body soap to wash the body in the rooftop open-air bath. Just enter the hot water. The view is certainly good because it is the height of the 7 floor. After the rooftop open-air bath, go to the large bath ”gold hot water”. In the large bath ”gold hot water”, there is a bath in the bathtub made of Shigaraki Yaki, and the hot water temperature is too hot to enter because it is a source. The hot water is very beautiful, so I want to enter it very much, but it is not very regrettable. There is also a precious rock bath sauna. It is certainly a very nice hot spring and is satisfied. The source of Arima Kan is a hot spring that can be drunk under the permission of the health center, and it is effective 々, and I get a small amount of hot spring hot water, but it is not delicious in compliment. The amount is moderate and there is no food loss. The next morning, the ”romantic hot water” which was the woman hot water last night is the man hot water. ”Romantic bath” ５ You can enjoy a kind of bath, and the bath of the self-spray that followed the romantic of the hot spring is very pleasant. A bath made of a kind of ”precious jewel” of igneous rock made by crustal fluctuation about 3000 years ago. It is an old hotel, so you may not want to take a bath in your room, but their public bath is good. This place is on the hill which means you will not want to walk by your own in winter because of the slippery Mountain path. But in other hand it is really convenient because they provide shuttle bus to bus station or cable car station. And there is a ski place just in front of the hotel, you can borrow the equipments from hotel.

An inn with a connection to poet Mokichi Saito. Waka poems written by the guests and locals are displayed, and there are *****s of paper and writing brushes in the room. The number of rooms is small, and meals can be served in private rooms. The furnishings and furnishings, and the tableware used for meals, etc., show a sense of commitment and taste. In particular, the cloudy, sulfur-scented hot springs while looking at the piled-up snow and the delicious, gentle-tasting dishes made with ingredients from Yamagata are pleasing to the eye and very satisfying. The location is good. Room is decent equipped with heater that I think is time to replace seems not working very well. The breakfast and dinner especially is very worth n nice. First night we had pork shabu shabu n second night lamb BBQ. The staffs in restaurants r friendly n good, especially the old uncle n Philippo lady . Can see all the local staffs sort of rely or keep letting the lady work only as she speak english. In other words, a bit taking advantage of her. onsen is also nice especially the outdoor with trees n snow feel. The front desk staffs r very bad. There is one young guy that just stand there and when I carry my little girl with one hand while another hand pushing luggage where I need to push the entrance door. During check in, even the philipino girl helped to push the luggage inside while the same guy just stand there n look. Another more serious attitude guy was the older shorter guy with mole on his face, I parked my car in front as there was no parking didn't know is the hotel's van lot, the guy spoke with to remove the car like scolding n yelling at me. Super bad attitude. Lastly the air filter in the room, the cleaning standard operating procedure should include cleaning the water tank n it's surrounding. Looks very dirty with mold. Overall is worth your money n experience just some negative experiences by some bad staffs. Not missing another issue is the smoking room, is the exactly at the entrance n next to the welcome drinks sofa (though with ventilation n dedicated room but still can smell the smoke)

The hotel is not far from the station. There is an elevator and the room was quite nice with a wonderful view over the city. We paid about 36€ a night which was a good price for what we got. The bathroom was small as in most hotels in this category but everything was clean and well maintained. Extra free toiletries can be picked up at the reception, who was always friendly and helpful. The room could be a bit bigger as with two bags / suitcases you have to move some furniture for storage ;-) The English skills of some receptionists could be improved. In general we had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would recommend it.

We were really happy to stay in this hotel. The location was very central and connected with other mean of transportations (busses and trains) which is very beneficial if you are going to visit Zao Onsen or Ginzan Onsen. They also connected to this mall S-Pal (with supermarkets and small resto). The room very clean and full with amenities. The staff really helpfull. No complain at all.

5mins walk from the bus station(sendai - Kaminoyama). 15mins walk from the rail station. 0mins walk from the free shuttle bus of Zao Liza World ski place. Self service, shared bathroom and shared toilet. Recommended for people who is going to ski at Liza world.
