The Trees, Kandy

Stunning hotel with a perfect view of the lake and Tooth Relic Temple. The staff are very welcoming and check-in experience was smooth. The room was very spacious and clean with good room service food. Recommend to sit by the infinity pool to try local arrack drink and freshly baked pizza while enjoying the good view.

Hotel is good, they failed to mention there is construction happening right next door and it's LOUD. We were assured it will end at 5, didn't end till 6 so we moved rooms. Dinner & breakfast were both limited. Kids enjoyed the pool.

Had an incredible experience here. Great hospitality and amazing views. The pool on the roof top was beautiful.

Highly recommended if you are staying at Kandy. They have this rooftop pool with great view, you can oversee the entire city from there. Staff are super helpful, room was clean and comfortable as well.

I would like to report an incident that happened in the restaurant. A large and arrogant staff member refused to let me sit at a larger table, saying it was reserved for four people. After our conversation, he deliberately placed a “Reserved” sign on the table. Since no guests arrived, I later asked him again and he said the four guests would come at 21:30. However, the restaurant closes at 22:00, so this explanation did not make sense. In fact, no guests ever arrived. When I asked other staff members for his name, they told me it was Sammy. I was very disappointed by this dishonest behavior. The front desk staff at this hotel are excellent, so it is unfortunate that this experience in the restaurant left such a negative impression. I visited this hotel as part of a preliminary inspection for a group tour. However, since there is a staff member who would casually lie to guests, I cannot guide my group to a hotel with such dishonest service. Therefore, I have decided not to include this hotel in our tour plans.

Very beautiful hotel, good bed. The shower has a boiler of ca 50 liters, which is a bit inconvenient if you are with 2 people. The worst thing about this hotel is that they are in a fight with local tuk-tuk and tour operators. Multiple Tuk-tuk's during our stay didn't want to stop in front of the hotel, we had to go a 10 minute walk uphill sometimes.

The Trees, Kandy was our favourite stay in Sri Lanka. The rooms are so comfortable and clean. We were welcomed by staff with tea and beautiful lotus flowers. The pool provides fantastic view of Kandy. It’s a shame that our stay coincided with the crowds for the sacred exposition of the tooth relic of Lord Buddha, otherwise we would have enjoyed our stay more. There were a few times staff did forget our orders at breakfast and at the bar, but other than than, thoroughly enjoyed the stay!
