Great hotel, spacious room, great view, decent facilities. Café, breakfast area and restaurant absolutely lovely! Pool okay, whirlpools were there. I would absolutely recommend it and I will come back. :)

Great grand hotel with a historic charm of days gone by. It towers over the city like a castle. The rooms are large and comfortable, clean and offer a beautiful view of the city or the forest. Only the staff sometimes don't seem particularly professional and friendly, as befits a 5-star hotel. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The wellness area is small and certainly not a highlight. There are other alternatives for wellness in Karlovy Vary.

A venerable, huge building on a hill above Karlovy Vary. This is where the elite met for spa treatments. An old, very beautiful house in the style of a castle. The garden around it is very well maintained. You can get to the city by cable car, which is free for hotel guests. Every 15 minutes. All the buildings are very harmonious, well maintained, cleanly connected and accessible. The corridors and rooms are clean and confirm the 5 stars. French balconies allow an attractive view of the city! The spa, indoor pool, sauna and whirlpool are clean, bright and well equipped. It is doubtful whether the sauna would be sufficient for 9 people if it were occupied more. We had the sauna, whirlpool and indoor pool practically to ourselves. Breakfast was a little hard work but ultimately OK. I would have expected more for a 5-star hotel. Sausage, cheese and pastries were very rudimentary. The bagels were not fresh. No scrambled eggs. The staff were grumpy. The ambience was not right. We found that out the night before in the Paris restaurant. The waiter actively scared us away, even though/because? no one was there. He condescendingly sent us to the restaurant next door to get our fill, which we didn't want to do. So no sales anywhere. That doesn't fit into the overall picture. The building and surroundings are OK, but the final touches are missing everywhere.

The staff was nice, the food was good and the hotel was very nice. The spa, however, needs a facelift and the average age of the hotel guests was simply too high for our taste. But that is probably more to do with the location than the hotel. It was a very high-quality, luxurious stay. We liked the fact that you could smoke Iqos at the bar!

Everything about this hotel is perfect. We were guests four years ago and so to come back has been a great privilege.

Beautiful hotel that breathes the spirit of the 1920s. It stands majestically above Karlovy Vary like a crown and offers a view of the beautiful old town. The underground cable car takes you into the city, right next to the opera house. The staff is always friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are spacious and offer a breathtaking view of the city or the surrounding forests. Almost all have a small balcony. The bathrooms are also spacious. The original details throughout the hotel, such as the glass elevators, the stucco work and the chandeliers, are enchanting. The breakfast is opulent and leaves nothing to be desired. The dining room and the adjoining ballroom also impress with beautiful details. The dinner buffet is also impressive. We were particularly impressed by the healthy options. In the Café Vienna, the charm of the KuK monarchy with its café culture can be experienced. The pool area is small but well-kept and offers a great view of the forests. The range of treatments is huge. Everything from wellness to medical treatments is available. The consultation with the doctor was helpful here. The massages were not only relaxing, but also effectively relieved my pain. The Hydroxeur is also recommended.

Actually a well-kept, beautiful hotel with spacious rooms (junior suite). However, these are equipped with very uncomfortable pillows. If you want good pillows, you can only get them by booking a separate "pillow menu". A third bed booked for children is hardly reasonable. Unfortunately, despite contacting the hotel in advance, no consideration is given to intolerances (celiac disease, low-sugar diet due to medical necessity) and the staff are not reliable in this regard, and there are no appropriate labels on the dishes. Apart from that, the quality of the food is average. The spa area is also unfortunately very small and showing its age. It's a real shame, the price-performance ratio is not right at all.

We only spent one night here with breakfast while passing through. The access to the hotel is quite nice, but there is only one ramp where cars pile up and block each other. The hotel does not help you with your luggage or parking. They just give you the location of the parking spaces and leave you to your own devices. The staff at reception are short-tempered, almost unfriendly, and do not speak enough English or German. So far, not worthy of a 5-star hotel. The hotel is quite old and therefore has its own charm, which we generally appreciate. In this case, however, it feels like nothing has been done to the hotel for 100 years. The rooms are beautiful and match the pictures, large, spacious and clean. The hotel is on the mountain, so you have a wonderful view of the city. The spa area needs a lot of renovation, it is moldy and worn. In addition, the area is very small and can only accommodate a few hotel guests. We did not like the breakfast atmosphere at all. You are left to your own devices and have to look for your own seat or fight for it where there are no seats at all. Only the main room was opened, although there are two adjoining rooms. The staff are extremely unfriendly, the coffee is awful and the whole atmosphere is like a train station hall. The hotel is a meeting point for coffee trips from all over Germany and the average age is 80+. For the low price we paid, it was OK, but nothing more.
