Among the Italian travel agencies, this resort is really popular and I had highly expectations. Unfortunately since our arrival I have been disappointed. For a 5 stars hotel I would have expected a higher level of service and attention to details. The room was clean but the food needed improvement. The buffet offered a wide choice of Italian cuisine, too bad some dishes were cold and lacked description. The beach would also be beautiful and relaxing, if it weren't for the Masai and other vendors who immediately attack you as soon as you approach the water ... not to mention the acrobats who pass by at least twice a day with their loudspeakers blasting music. Luckily for them, there was GRACE (waitresses at Kilimanjaro Restaurant). She was so kind with us and her attitude was perfect. She had an unique presence and always welcomed us with her beautiful smile. But I was really impressed (and also expected this from everyone at the resort) by her positive energy and correct approach during the service. In conclusion, I do not recommend relying on the concierge of the resort as he sold us an activity but in the end it was anything else and paying even more than necessary. I am very disappointed as I expected much more from this resort for what I paid. I do not recommend it

Simplemente impresionante!! Estuve con mi familia (9personas) celebrando mi cumpleaños durante una semana y no pudimos haber elegido un sitio mejor. Localización espectacular, comida increíble, habitaciones fabulosas pero sobre todo, el personal!! Amables, eficientes, cuidadosos, no tengo palabras!! Tuve un incidente de salud con mi hijo y se portaron con nosotros de maravilla. Especial mención a Nicole y Ashanti porque estuvieron de nuestra mano y nos acompañaron con un cariño impagable. Siempre os estaremos agradecidos. Mil gracias por todo! Asante Sana!!

We went to Gold to have lunch and it was wonderful! The location and the buildings are very beautiful, the staff are very nice and the food was tasty. I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten and they were very accommodating with both gluten free pasta and bread. The restaurant manager told us there would be a singer later that night so we came back for dinner as well. Super cozy with the singer and we had a romantic table with our feet in the sand. The best food experience we had in Kendwa!

Gestito veramente bene! Cibo eccellente! Staff super premuroso! Servizi sartoriali! Camere stupende! Per non parlare delle ville, un’esperienza da fare assolutamente! Posizione probabilmente tra le migliori dell’isola. Consiglio vivamente questo resort a chi desidera incidere tra i propri ricordi quello di una vacanza indimenticabile !

Gold Zanzibar is the best hotel you can choose. This hotel has all the facilities that you can dream of. Their kitchen is always crisp fresh, everything is prepared for you on the spot with the most care. Lunch and dinner are completely different, nothing passes a second time of food. The serving people are always very friendly, very motivated. Young Mister Amani really does his utmost and gives enormlessly respect to the people. Chapeau Amani. You go the extra sparkle! How many times have you run for coffee for us? Nothing is too much for you. The pool boys are always happy and helpful. The hotel is always and everywhere clean. The garden is perfectly maintained. The management is super sweet and caring, to their customers and also to their employers. You really find this often. The massage is also highly recommended. They really treat the pain points. We were received and treated like royalty in Gold Zanzibar, really not normal. We never return to the same hotel, with an exception for Gold Zanzibar. We have just been by them for the 2nd time. My admiration for this hotel and their people is mega high...and yes! We are returning...words are further unnecessary...this is a super deluxe hotel.

En effet pour nous cela a été une expérience car nous n'avons pas l'habitude d'être traités comme des rois de cette façon. Le personnel de cet hôtel a été incroyable, souriant et serviable. De nombreuses petites attentions pour notre lune de miel nous ont fait extrêmement plaisir même si nous ne restions que deux jours. La villa était magnifique, toujours propre et très bien équipée. La cuisine du Gold restaurant était très, le buffet du Kilimandjaro varié mais plus simple. Les transats sur la plage sont très agréable et la piscine grande. Tout le monde fait en sorte que nous passions un bon séjour. Merci !

Perplexed about the resort's 5-star rating. Beyond the lack of care for the (dirty) beach, the staff is not very attentive starting from the beach guards (constantly with their heads lowered to the screen of their phone without noticing passers-by rummaging through the bags left under the umbrellas), continuing with the waiters are listless, slow and often forget orders (there are few really kind and helpful ones, I remember Grace, Peter, Aidan, Combino, Helly and in general those who take care of cleaning the rooms), I have rarely seen managers going around the resort or monitor staff activity. For the quality of the food: the Gold restaurant has a little varied menu and the quality of the food left me very perplexed, while the Kilimanjaro buffet restaurant has little variety. The cocktail menu is very limited and mocktails are practically absent. Resort without a sports center (there is only a small but very clean gym). Noisy nearby resorts. Personally, although I found the holiday relaxing, I would not recommend either the destination or the resort.
