Mnarani Beach Cottages

A stay beyond expectation. At high tide it was perfect sea to swim in. The pool and common areas were very fresh. The room in the house with hammocks was absolutely perfect for us. Minor problems were fixed by the hotel immediately. The food in the restaurant was typical hotel standard for the area, fresh and tasty but not particularly exciting. A stone's throw away is the fantastic restaurant Aluna. Private location, but still only 5 minutes walk to central parts and 15 minutes walk to larger beaches.

An ideal opportunity to relax for a few days or a week after safari. Very, very friendly staff, good bar, good restaurant, pool and seaside available. Swimming in the sea is a bit problematic due to the tide, but the tides are what they are. Rooms are clean and our apartment with its own jacuzzi on the 3rd floor is certainly the exception with its size and exclusive sea view. Daily towel changes would not have been necessary, but that is a positive. The pool could have used an upgrade, but it was always serviced and the water was clean. A la carte food is OK. Breakfast is varied. Ham/bacon and eggs would be better than just eggs. Limited jam. Likes/dislikes: Salt and pepper open to pick up with your fingers (hygiene). Despite the humid conditions, a better solution can be found, e.g. pepper and salt mills that are stored dry during the day. Open containers that anyone can reach into are a no-go. Bar with long drinks and beer is very good. Water dispenser in the restaurant should be refrigerated. Drinking water for brushing teeth in the room should also be a matter of course and not left to the guest. Environment: We walked to Nungwi Beach: It's not the hotel's fault. But the beach must be cleaned! Environmental protection is your future. Focus on education in schools, children, young people. Giving young people some money every day and collecting containers for beach cleaning is better than asking tourists for bracelets or tours. There are no public rubbish bins on the beach (outside the hotel). The environment also appears safe for walking. Turtle viewing is good but be careful with children. The animals bite hard, as happened myself. Boating was OK. Reef at Mnemba reef beautiful but very crowded. Use local guides who may also know places to the west.
