Very good hotel. Except for the bad road when driving in, everything else is great. They prepared cakes when they knew it was our birthday and sang happy birthday during dinner. 5 stars for the location, barely 4 for the rest.
Beautiful looking hotel, good location, wonderful swimming pool, nice pier and the little islets for the rooms are quite nice.
For the rooms it's another story, it may have been a 5 star 10 years ago but not today.
Furniture stained and user, ditto for bedding, average cleanliness. Overall it deserves a major renovation to regain 5 stars. We had to ask to change rooms…
Average but correct food, a big plus for the Jetty restaurant whose dishes are simply excellent.
In short, in summary the value for money is very average, if you have this kind of budget, take another 5 *, otherwise pay less and take a nice 4 * at half price.

I planned a 3 day Easter wedding weekend for my couple at Essque and ooh my This hotel exceeded my expectations & I’m so grateful to the entire team for being so flexible & dedicated to bring my vision to life , the personalized all inclusive Menu from start to finish blew me away , the ambiance perfect for a destination wedding, couple , friends or family get work . Thank you for giving us a weekend to forever Remember. We shall definitely be back soon. If you’re planning a wedding in Zanzibar I highly recommend this place . You won’t regret it . Upea paikka! Yövyimme sea view villassa, jossa oli puitteet kohdallaan. Palvelu erinomaista, joskin osa tarjoilijoista ei osannut kovin hyvin englantia. Ruoka melko yksipuolista ja laiturilla oleva ravintola myös hyvin vaihteleva laadultaan. Allasalue oli kiva ja aktiviteetteja monipuolisesti tarjolla.
