Le Rhododendron is truly special – a peaceful oasis a 5 minute walk from the noise and bustle of Thamel. Hari continues to genuinely care for his guests. He made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to ensure we had an extremely comfortable stay. The hotel was spotless, the breakfast first class and his hospitality second to none. Hari somehow manages to combine making you feel like family, yet also like honoured guests – a wonderful combination. Each day started with a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast on the sunny rooftop terrace ( including the best coffee I had in Nepal). The shower is hot, with good pressure, the bedding, linen etc, spotless and the wi-fi and electricity reliable. Hari is ready to assist with any logistical challenge and often anticipated our needs. A stay at Le Rhododendron will be one of the highlights of your trip to Nepal and worth staying in Kathmandu for an extra few days.

Wonderful place to stay in Kathmandu, it’s close to Thamel and a lot of historical sites. Nice and clean room. Mr. Hari - the owner - was so helpful. He’s provided necessary information about Kathmandu tours, booked taxi, great talks, bring me to tourist agency to booking air ticket for Everest seeing… Feel like home. Highly recommended to everyone,

We stayed 3 times in March and April 2025. A little away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel in a quiet street, comfortable guest rooms, a warm welcome, good advice, and very interesting discussions about life in Nepal.

No hesitation...Hari's guesthouse is the best. You feel right at home there. Warm atmosphere, great food. Hari speaks very good French having lived in France for a long time. The terrace at the top of the house is a real rest after a trek.

We had an excellent stay with Hari and Sita. They are so nice! The guest room is very well located, in a rather quiet little street, which is essential for spending a few days in Kathmandu. Very welcoming little apartment, pretty comfortable rooms. Hari is very talkative and it's very pleasant! The breakfast is very good (the coffee is very good, it's quite rare in Nepal!.) Thank you Hari and Sita for these few days with you, it's was perfect!.

Hôtel exceptionnel 🙂.Hari, le propriétaire, est une personne avec un coeur énorme 🥰. Au petit soin, plein d'humour et ayant vécu en France, parle le français. Le Roof top est sublime, loin du tumulte de kathmandu, qui est pourtant juste à côté car en 15 mns à pied, on est dans Thamel. Les chambres, géniales , très propres et le petit déjeuner, au top 👌.
