CASTLE Kaha Lani Resort

Very poor welcoming. Nobody keeps your luggage before 3 PM and after departure. Front desk had a very cold welcoming not trying to help in anyway. However, the apartment was great despite the very approximate cleanliness and the phone missing. The property also accounted, more than $250 of extra housekeeping charges whereas this were not mentioned in the original Trip.com offer. Would recommend another property which would show higher quality of communication.

Property is very centrally located on the island-close to shops, etc (need a car) and within walking distance to a great beach and park. The property is very clean and well-maintained. This particular unit was on the ground floor and the annoying thing was roosters and chickens freely walk up to the porch (there are many in the property) and they are very loud early in the morning.

The building itself looks good from the outside. The apartment is very old, furniture is dated. We were on the ground floor no. 107. When you opened a drawer you suddenly had the handle in your hand. If you wanted to turn off the fan with the chain, you suddenly had it in your hands, there was rust on it and it had broken off. The front door knob was loose, one side of the sofa was sagging and the sofas are just not comfortable. There are no curtains on the windows in the bedrooms, making it quite light for sleeping. The bed is comfortable. In the bathroom of the room with separate beds, there was little space to put your toiletries. and very annoying that you have to get out of the bath and that there is not just a shower. The only nice thing is that you have a sea view and the beach is a 2-minute walk away and the swimming pool is practically in your backyard. The surroundings/garden also look well cared for. I will not easily recommend this apartment because it is old on the inside.

We visited Kaha lani the week of Dec 1st. This is a condo resort 2bed/2bath ocean view. The condo itself is a little dated but it has everything you need for your stay. There are pots and pans, iron, hair dryer, bowls and coffee maker. These units are individually owned so these amenities vary depending on who the owner is. The location is right on the beach and you can see the ocean from your patio lanai. There is no a/c in these homes however the ocean breeze creates cool air coming straight thru the window. Not sure about the summer months. There is plenty of parking. Laundry is on site at the office clubhouse. I would advise bringing ear plugs or noise canceling head sets as the roosters crow at 3-4 am. The condo was clean and spacious and it was enough for our group of 5. There is cable tv and wifi. The area grounds are very well kept with nice landscaping. The pool was clean and a decent temperature but it didn’t feel heated. There are BBQ gas grills on the property. The staff and security are welcoming and friendly. We were allowed a late check out due to a late departure. I would say our stay was pleasant and welcoming. We really only used the condo to shower and sleep. We were out everyday venturing and exploring the island. I would definitely stay here again as it was a budget friendly ocean front property.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Location was 10/10. Although we had one of the only units with laundry (122!), the master bedroom door did not shut, and a handful of lights didn’t work. The view and convenience trumped all.

This property is a hidden gem. The location and ocean views are absolutely amazing. The unit we had was clean and large with a two patios and full ocean views. Very well managed with easy check in and out. A quiet tucked away spot.

Very nice place. Easy access to the beach. Fully appointed kitchen. Very relaxing time.

This was our third stay at Kaha Lani and it will be our last. Previous units were on the first and third floors of two different buildings and were very nice. However, this visit, Unit 327 was in very poor condition, way beyond simply being outdated. We spent $6,700 for a 2-week stay and the only positive aspect was the location - direct oceanfront. Carpet was filthy, bed was uncomfortable, bathrooms disgusting. Screens did not fit properly and let in gnats and other flying insects. Additionally, this visit, the smell from the sewage treatment plant near Lydgate was gaggingly overwhelming at times.
