Hotel Indigo KANSAS CITY – THE CROSSROADS by IHG

Let me start with what was great about this hotel. Because it was pretty much everything. The room was spectacular, the bed was comfy, all in all, the room was "WOW", the bathroom was amazing. The full length mirror had a shelf on it. The valet team was very nice. And the location for the purpose of my trip was excellent. Needs improvement: bathroom grout could use some cleaning, and the front steps are worn and warped. The problem? When we checked out, I glanced at my bill. We had prepaid using IHG points, so I was expecting a bill for valet. But I was charged for the the entire stay. I went to the desk to ask about this, and the lady said that someone would refund me, but she didn't have the ability. She then wrote down the last digit of my room, and the first initial of my last name. Which isn't a lot of information, so I then reached out to IHG. After 5 days, the charge for the full amount posted to my card, despite receiving a receipt from the hotel stating that the only thing I was being charged for was $28 for valet. I did have to end up disputing the charge with my card. It took close to 2 weeks after the stay to get the refund. Getting double charged (points + money) was very frustrating and I feel like I've lost some confidence in a brand that my family has trusted in for several decades. I'll be combing my bills a lot harder from now on. I had never had an issue with staying on points and being charged in the 15 years I've been an IHG member, and I checked with my family who have been members since the 80s, and they also stated they had no issues. So this was a disappointing experience.

Great location and friendly staff, the room was large and clean! Loved being able to control the blinds remotely and the addition of the blackout curtains made our stay even better!

The property was amazing! It was beautiful, very clean, and the staff was great! The only thing I didn’t like was the noises outside. My family and I aren’t use to that so it was hard to sleep but overall this property was amazing!

Getaway Great property! Best blackout shades I’ve ever had in my life! Friendly staff. I wish the room would have included glassware for drinks instead of just paper cups. Located close to tons of restaurants and close to streetcar line.

Loved the decor of the hotel as well as its location. So many fun activities in the area, especially on First Fridays!
