I chose this hotel because of its historic character. I found my room drafty, and never received housekeeping. Had to go to the front desk to get coffee packets for in-room coffee. Internet access required signing up for a Marriott benefits package I did not desire. Consequently, I had no interest for doing important business without leaving the hotel -- was my biggest complaint. My overall impression is that this place doesn't take good care of its customers, for the price.

The location is a very short walk to the Plaza, even for a cup of coffee.
The building is old, but clean. It was comfortable and a good price for the location.

I stayed at Plaza Court during my first trip to Kansas City in my 30+ years in the States. The hotel is in a charming historic building within walking distance of the famous outdoor mall district with nice stores and restaurants. It is also within walking distance of the incredible Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. I enjoyed both very much in the time after business was done. What is most impressive about the hotel is its service and attention to detail. I accidentally dropped my smart watch under the bed without knowing it and did not realize that until I passed the security check at the airport. Before I had time to call the hotel, the watch was turned in at the hotel front desk. Carly S. of the front desk emailed me before I even returned home. Over the next week or so, Carly figured out a good way to ship the watch back to me and kept me informed. Today when the package arrived, the watch was meticulously packaged for waterproofing and shockproofing in several layers inside a bubbled envelope. I was deeply moved by how professional and considerate Carly was, not only in packing the watch but also throughout the whole process! It really warms my heart. If I go to KC again, I will certainly try to meet and thank her in person.

The Hotel did not have a full functioning restaurant as advertised so we had to go elsewhere, although they had a breakfast that was ok, but the person taking orders was having a meltdown with other staff and her issues made things very uncomfortable for the few of us that were around. The guy that checked us in was great but the rest of the staff seemed non-existent. I could not even get someone at the front desk to get an itemized bill when we checked out so I just left my room keys there. The only thing nice was that we were close to the happenings in the country club plaza area so we could walk in 2 minutes ans the suite was a nice size.

Loved the place and location. Friendly staff and very clean. If I had one complaint, it would be trying to read the bottles in the shower.... very hard to read for those of us that wear reading glasses!

Love the historical building and the milk closets. It could use a refresh on the beds, both queens in our room were quite saggy.
